To write what I have lived through. I really cannot say I lived through it, more like I was there when things happened. As a child I was not really aware of, let's say the darkness that was all around.
It is late Summer. He was informed he will be going to a new school come the fall. He and his family are at the house of his mothers parents. His grandparents' house is located on the main street of the capital city. The street was alive with traffic. But they did not seem to make it way to the rear of the lot that had a massive apple tree. Green apples. Tart ones at that. Fabian is up the tree as his siblings are below. Four of them in total now. Two brothers and two sisters. The last son of his parents was born in late July of that year. But their stories are their own.
Fabian has climbed this tree many times before. Today however his confidence betrays him. The branch beneath him gives way. He falls. He was twenty or more feet up as he went down hard through the branches. He grasps at them trying to catch his fall. When the voice again speaks.
“Roll on your back I have you.”
He stops his flailing motion as he is turned on his back he clams into the ground. He can hear sounds but not the words coming from his siblings mouths as they become a blur. “Thank you lady.” he said before he lost consciousness.
His parents along with uncles on both sides of his parentage come to his aid. They rush him to the hospital.
There were nails taken from his arm and leg. He had landed on the makings of a bunny hutch for the rabbits his uncle on his father’s side had brought. More like caught but that is for later. He came as the doctors were removing them. He punched and kicked them as he did not know where he was at the moment.
His uncles and father are called into the room to help get him under control. But even with the additional bodies, Fabian was able to knock them all back and take off into the hospital.
He can see the woman before him. He starts following her as she has not led him astray. He ducks and crouches when need be to escape the view of the hospital staff that is currently trying to find him. He comes to a room on an upper floor.
The lady is standing at the bedside of a family crying over the loss of their child.
Fabian slowly approaches.
“Tell them she is at peace now.” the woman says to fabian.
“The nice lady says she is at peace.” Fabian said aloud.
Their mother and father look at him.
The mother notices “you are bleeding. Are you ok? Honey, get a doctor.”
Fabian touches the hole in his leg. “Oh, I am.” he said as tears ran down his face. He saw there next to the woman he had followed a girl's smile.
“Tell them I said I am sorry I did not have more time with them. And that I love them.” the girl says to him.
He nods “The girl says she is sorry she did not have more time with you, and that i love them.” he said to the mother and father.
The girl giggles.
Fabian drops to his knees as he falls over.
The father calls for a nurse.
They come to collect the boy.
Hours later he is released. He was limping but he was still well enough to let go.
