The cool breeze caressed my face as Leo and I made our way down the empty streets. He was going on about his friends, and basketball. I honestly could care less about any of it, but I wanted to hear anything Leo had to say, simply because I liked him. I liked how he shared so much with me, it almost made me feel guilty for being an avid listener and just that. I didn't tell him much about me, but as I pondered at times what to tell him at all... I didn't know.
My life was chaos.
And that was just that.
I had no girl friends, I had no hobbies... unless survival counted for one.
He reached out and took my hand gently in his as we grew closer to my apartment, coming to a stop.
"What are you thinking about?" He asked, grabbing the other hand and standing before me.
"Nothing." I couldn't help but smile every time he looked at me. My eyes danced around, wanting to look at him but my shy nature taking over.
"Look at me." He lifted my chin, searching for my eyes until they glistened in his direction.
"I'm sorry." I took my hand back, wiping my eyes.
"What's the matter?" Leo asked, "is it something I said? It was disrespectful of me to refer to that woman as a whore... but I don't call all women that, Mickey really was dealing with a--"
"No, no" I laughed a little, "it's just that... I actually feel good with you."
"Well you should, I'm your man." He kissed my lips. I brought my arms around his neck as he wrapped his around my waist.
I kissed him back, feeling on top of the world for the brief moments before my doom.
"Goodnight." I smiled against his lips.
"I wish you didn't have to go..." he held onto me as long as he could before I began to back away.
"I wish I didn't either."
"Well, you really don't..." he raised an eyebrow.
"Well I should... goodnight, Leo." I repeated.
"Night..." he waved with a small smile.
I walked up the stairway, looking back several times as he watched me from beneath them.
I waved at him one more time before sneaking inside as quietly as possible, watching him wave back.
As I shut the door behind me carefully, I realized it was very possible I was the only one home. I took off my shoes, tip toeing towards the bedrooms in the dark. My parents' door was wide open, and no one was there. I opened my own bedroom door, taking off my jacket and throwing it on the chair in the corner of the tiny room, hurrying to the window and opening it wide, sticking my head out.
"HEY LEO!" I called after him as he'd began walking down the street back home.
He turned around, looking up to my bedroom window and stepping underneath it.
"Wanna come in? No one's home."
Of course he did.
He was up the stairs in less than five seconds already knocking on the door.
I ran from my bedroom to open the door.
"No Swifty?" He asked, looking around in the dark as if he'd be able to still make out the features of my shitty excuse of a home.
"It's just you and me." I led him to my bedroom, closing the door behind us.
He looked around, going to my bed and taking a seat.
