It was the winter of 2004, and Haneul just came back from the States after the operation was successful. Dressed in a cardigan, Haneul's feelings of regret became more rugged with each step she took to her sister's deathbed.

Her feet came to a halt when Haneul saw her mother begging the doctor, she recognize the sign language she made.

Help me.

It was a series of tears and wails, it makes Haneul's heart swell for both her mother and Soo-hee. The autopsy was suicide, but Haneul didn't believe it.

She silently listened to the ongoing conversation between the two.

"Doing this here won't help you!" but Haneul's mother didn't listen, she was dead set on justifying Soo-hee.

"I need to know you understand what I'm telling you," the doctor said with bits of sign language for the woman to understand what he was implying whilst he pointed to the clipboard furiously.

It was an agreement to hold a funeral service for Soo-hee.

"Please review this, and then sign. You can sign with a thumbprint."

Her fists clenched in anger, Haneul was mad. Tears veiled her eyelids, lips shaky as she couldn't do anything for her mother and Soo-hee. Sure, her father is rich but Soo-hee wasn't his child.

Haneul was his only daughter and he was already made it clear that his decision stays the same. He had no obligation to support Soo-hee.

The only thing Haneul can do at that time was watching her mother in her deepest days. So that day, Haneul never showed up in front of her mother again. Or visit Soo-hee's corpse, it was mental torture for her.

Mr. Choi rose an eyebrow when the younger girl shut the door, it was only a few seconds and she was already back.

"I thought you were going to visit your sister, did something happened?"

Haneul shakes her head, stubbornly wiping off the remnants of her tears with a handkerchief as she breathes heavily, fixing her composure. Her black eyes glanced at Mr. Choi, her eyes were bloodshot from crying.

He felt uncomfortable as he averted his eyes.

"Hey, is Dad's offer still up?" Haneul queried, voice stern. Mr. Choi shook his head in confirmation. "Yes, why did something change your mind?" it was pointless but he had to hear it.

Haneul furiously wiped off the tears, almost glaring into the mirror as she replied.

"I'll go back to the States... Because I'm going to be my father's heir."

Till now Haneul was still thankful for Yeo-jeong's father, the former director of Seoul Joo General Hospital. She remembered him that day, he moved Soo-hee's body to the freezer.
