Darkness - people view it as horrifying , as corrupt and capable of corrupting others. The atmosphere darkness carries with it spooks most, and because of this it is feared. Evil lives in the darkness, as people usually say, and the monsters use it to hide so they can catch us when we are weak. It's a dangerous substance, a presence unknown and mysterious and impossible to control, so the fear projected towards it is expected. However, could it possibly be a misunderstood source of nature? After all, the dangers hide within the darkness but the darkness itself doesn't appear to be dangerous itself... right?Unfortunately that couldn't be further from the truth. The darkness is the scariest, and the worst horror capable of existing in any of the realms that exist today.

The octagonally-shaped room was drenched in darkness. Nothing was visible until bright, neon lights brightened themselves from circular holes across each and every one of the eight walls. These lights shone through colored glass that were patterned into three equally shaped sections, each a different color. When the light shone through them it was reflected in different angles, allowing the light to stretch across each and every corner of the room for whoever came inside. The flooring had a lone carpet made of a red and white material and a slight glance showed it was expertly made. It had been specially crafted to cover every inch of the floor, shaped in the same octagonal way as the room, although it stopped a perfect ten inches before touching any of the walls. The roof of the room was covered by a giant mirror, clean with no sign of grime or dust, which perfectly reflected the entire room on its surface. The one thing someone in this room would find to be out-of-the-ordinary would be the lack of any entrance, be it a doorway or any other form. Yet, even with no way inside, two people had been standing in the center of the room with their eyes closed and arms behind their back - they'd miraculously appeared the moment that the neon lights had filled the room. One of them, standing at 5 foot 4 inches, had light brown hair, smooth and combed and sides tucked behind his ears while his fringe was curled. He had bright green eyes and wore a sleeveless, black shirt which had a pattern consisting of white semi0circles starting from both shoulders and looping down to the waistline. Over the top of his shirt hung an unzipped, dark brown jacket made of leather with the exception of the woolly collar. Lastly, his legs were kept warm in a pair of pants that matched the color of his hair, the tightness showing off his slender physique. The other man was taller, standing at 6 foot 2 inches. He had bright yellow hair which hung down over his ears with no sign of messiness - he clearly took care of it. His eyes were black and his torso had nothing except a yellow jacket made of silk that reached down to his knees, leaving his bare chest exposed and showing his masculine body, the muscles he wished for his enemies to be intimidated by. His dark red jeans had the bottom of each legging curled up a small amount, done so to avoid his pants making contact with his dark yellow boots when walking. The neon lights dimmed and the two men moved their bodies, opening their eyes. The taller man's arms were raised above his head where they crossed along each other and stretched out, only to come back down and cross over his chest. The shorter man stretched his arms out, feeling his shoulder-muscle tighten, then withdrew his hands into his jackets pockets. "Well, Michael?" the taller man said, not making eye contact with the shorter man while letting out a disgruntled groan, "Are you going to set it up?"The shorter man, Michael, stared up at his friend with a glare, his eyes trying to make eye contact but the taller man refused. Without a word, Michael let out a sigh and brought out his right hand. It waved across the air in front of him and a holographic red object resembling a keyboard came into existence, floating at chest-level. There was no sign of anything holding it up, but neither man were surprised. Michael began using one finger to press buttons on the keyboard which resulted in his friend rolling his eyes, but twenty seconds passed and Michael lowered his hand. The keyboard vanished as quickly as it had appeared and the neon lights brightened up again. This time the beams were redirected up to the ceiling where they made impact with the mirror, causing it to begin cracking along its surface. The glass was soon completely covered in inter-crossing cracks and even with the possibility of the mirror shattering down onto them, the two men never flinched. The mirror's cracks reached the walls, and now the only part of the mirror that wasn't covered in marks was a large circular section in the direct center. At the same time that the cracks stopped growing, the middle of the mirror exploded with a purple light, spreading past the cracks and covering the mirror until, with the exception of the middle, the individually shattered pieces fell down together. They fell for half a second until their momentum stopped and the pieces became stuck floating mid-air, one foot above the tallest man.A voice then began speaking out from the mirror, its speech was distorted and consisted of both deep and high pitches almost as if it was struggling to convey its own words, "Hunch... Michael... I take it you two managed to follow my orders."Michael's friend, Hunch, put his right hand across his belly and leaned forward into a bow even though the source of the voice probably couldn't see him, "We have, my God."Michael stared down at Hunch, then moved his sight up to the cracked mirror, a blank stare on his face but he was still paying attention.A bit of silence, Hunch kept his bowed pose, then the voice from the cracked mirror grew louder, "You had three whole weeks! Do tell me how it is only now you are contacting me?"Hunch straightened his body up, catching Michael off guard briefly, and stepped back an inch while looking up at the cracked mirror, "I apologize, my Lord. This realm was protected more than your information had made clear, I assume things have changed since you existed within the living. The crystal allowing us to come here had been fractured and split, each held by strong members of the Elementals' own protectors, their Templars, but we managed to acquire them. You have my sincerest apologies."This time it was Michael that bowed forward, with both his arms at his sides and his body only bending forward half the amount Hunch had. He also straightened his body back up almost immediately which caught him a glare from Hunch. The voice from the cracked mirror went silent but only for a few seconds before speaking again, "I have information. There exists an anomaly that can help me regain my lost body and powers, that can free me from this prison."Both men's eyes widened, Hunch's practically gleaming. "Tell us everything, please, my God. We will begin work at once!" Hunch said."The original Elemental, Sky. He was the one who brought forth the race we call Elementals today. He is the key to my success, but as you know he is no longer around today. But there is still hope, there is one person who can help me acquire what I desire. An Elemental of the Wind Colony."Hunch couldn't help but grin, "That will be easy."Michael raised his eyes up to the cracked mirror again, smiling, his hands moving back into his pockets, "Then please, my Lord. Tell us our target."
