The chrystal gems were on a mission in the desert
Steven was crawling beside them
Steven: waterrrrrr.... so thirsty... for water
Pearl: It'll be safer if you stand up and walk.
Steven: you don't understand... this is how you're supposed to act in the desert
the gems stopped and steven slowly rose to his feet
Steven: Is this the thing? the place?
Garnet: yes steven. the power in this structure turned aimless
Pearl: it's building columns with no roofs! Stairs that go nowhere! It's out of control!
Amethyst: then I guess we better WHOOOO
she jumped over stevens head and landed in the sand
Amethyst: roll on over there
Rose: that was a little unnecessary, Amethyst.
Amethyst shrugged it off when a loud roar was heard
Steven: what was that?!
Amethyst: let's go!
Garnet: It'll be best if you stay here steven.
Amethyst and Pearl started walking away
Pearl: we'll be quick
Rose: wha- GARNET! You can't just leave my baby here alone! It's dangerous to be here alone!
Garnet: and yet you used to come here alone all the time?
Rose: exactly. and that's why I know that this place is dangerous! Oh and while we're at it...
she got a water bottle out from her gem and gave it to him
Rose: here, buddy. You might need this.
Garnet chuckled a little
Rose: what? what's so funny???
Garnet: it's just... you used to lead millions of gems into battle and motivate us when everything seemed pointless and now you loose your head over not beeing able to protect steven when you're far too skilled for any monster there is
Rose: I couldn't protect them against the diamonds. Their minds were destroyed and you know what? it was all my fault. If I hadn't rebelled-
Steven: diamonds? Destroyed minds? Rebelled?!
There was no answer for him
Garnet: If you hadn't rebelled, the earth would be dead, all the gems would be unhappy and most of them would've been shattered anyway. you did the right thing.
Rose: ...you know, you would've been a darn good leader of the gems if I hadn't lived all those years ago
Steven: what?
Garnet: don't make me think about that. I almost split at the thought back then
Amethyst: uhhh... guys? are you coming or not?!
Rose looked at garnet
Garnet: nothing will happen to him. I promise.
Rose: well you better keep that promise then!
Garnet smiled and gave thumbs up
Steven: Wha- but what if something eats me?!
Garnet: Do not worry, wet one. there's nothing out there that can harm you.
She walked away too
Rose quickly gave steven a hug before going too
Rose: bye Stuball!
