"Nong? Good news!"

"Arai?"

"We have a match on the DNA samples from the criminal justice database."

"Who was it?"

"Green and an unknown male."

"Shouldn't be a surprise."

Fong shrugged his shoulders tiredly as he passed the papers over to Tine. Tine had obtained human skin residue and dried sweat samples from the steering wheel of the stolen Lamborghini Nero Granatus found at Pam's place.

"It's a 50/50 now."

"Sarawat, the thermoplastics shards from Pam's knees match the one from Green's car."

"We still need to wait for Phuak and Tharn while they work tracing down Green's and Dim's movement the night when Pam was murdered."

"Is there anything that we can work on at the moment?"

"Call for a meeting. We need a carefully coordinated plan to arrest them."

///

Earn frowned deeply as she received a phone call from the intelligence unit. There were sources which confirmed that Green got in contact with an illegal trafficking syndicate, planning to send Dim away from Thailand in a few days' time. If reliable, then they would have to ramp up their efforts if they hoped to arrest Dim.

"Team? We need to speed up, or at least, tell me, what is workable at the moment?"

She deadpanned, her eyes darting across the room silently, expecting someone to give her an answer to the million-dollar question. Sarawat remained passive. There was practically nothing they could do until the digital prints team finished analysing the low-resolution surveillance camera tape from the hotel back lane where Mil claimed to see Pam leaving in a sports car.

"What if? Just what if? We bait Dim?"

Tine asked hopefully. At least luring Dim into believing that he was out of trouble could buy them more time. This was a 50/50 chance that not everyone was willing to take; the stakes were too high. Dim was too dangerous to approach.

"Tine, no."

Sarawat said coldly, disagreeing with Tine's plan.

"Actually, yes, maybe that would work."

Earn huffed, they had to try everything they could to make sure that Dim stays in the country for as long as possible, even if it was for an hour. It was better than allowing Dim to leave Thailand silently. Sarawat pinched the bridge of his nose tiredly. Of course, he knew the plan would work. However, with Green and Dim knowing almost everyone in the lab, no one would get to approach them without being recognised. It would be too dangerous, after all.

Unless...

"I can go, Dim wouldn't recognise me."

Tine volunteered, even if Green recognised him, he was sufficiently confident that his team could rescue him from the fox den. Well, actually, not his team; probably just Sarawat alone.

"Tine, I said no."

"Wat, you know that's our only chance."

F'ck this.

"Fine! Do whatever suits you the best."

Sarawat stormed off from the meeting room angrily. He hated himself for being so powerless. Sarawat would've done whatever it took to be the bait if he could, yet there was nothing he could've done to change the current circumstances. He landed a punch into the wall, letting out a silent scream.
