As I woke up in Pietro's arms, a feeling of warmth spread throughout my body. It was like waking up in a dream, except this dream was real. I smiled to myself as I looked up at Pietro's peaceful face.
After a few moments of silently admiring him, Pietro stirred and opened his eyes.
"Staring is creepy," he said and I closed my eyes
"Guess ill never look at you again," I said and he laughed at my childishness.
We got ready for the day together and a notification from my calendar reminded me that it was the annual Avengers game night.
I explained what it was to Pietro and practically forced him to wear matching clothes with me. I loved how good we looked together.
I was going to figure out a way to get him on my team for any teamed games.
We spent the rest of the day waiting around till it was game time.
We walked into the living room together where Natasha, Steve, Sam, Wanda, Bruce, Clint, Peter and my dad were. Everybody else was either too busy or too scared to be defeated.
I was relieved to see everyone was in a good mood, and the atmosphere was light-hearted. I walked over to Peter and pulled him into a tight hug, happy to see my best friend.
I made my way over to him pulling him into a tight hug. "I haven't seen you in like forever," I said, squeezing the life out of him.
"Yeah, because you ditched me for a boy," he teased, and I assured him that wasn't the case.
The first game we were going to play was Charades, but it wasn't any regular Charades. We had compiled a list of everyone we all knew and decided to imitate the people instead of acting out books or movies. It was like a crossover between guess who and Charades.
The first team was me, Pietro, Natasha, Clint and Bruce.
The other team was Wanda, Peter, Steve, Sam and my dad.
As we began to play, the tension in the room started to build. I watched as the other team took their turn, with Wanda acting out the chitauri army much to everyone's amusement.
The poor girl was stressed trying to act out flying creatures and I could tell she was getting frustrated. Eventually, Steve managed to figure it out and it was honestly a miracle.
I knew we had to step up our game because I wasn't too confident in anyone's abilities other than Natasha's.
It was finally our team's turn and of course, I was up first. I picked out a piece of paper and I saw 'Loki' scribbled across the paper.
I took a deep breath before beginning to act out the Hulk picking up Loki and throwing him around multiple times like a ragdoll.
We all talked about this footage we saw from one of the security cameras for days after the incident and I was surprised no one was picking up on my impression.
That also could've been due to my terrible acting but I preferred believing it was because everyone else was stupid.
As the game continued, I found myself growing increasingly tired. It was hard work acting out the scene.
Eventually, I decided that I couldn't keep up the charade any longer. I looked over at Pietro and began to carefully mouth the answer to him, hoping that no one else in the room would notice.
But of course, Sam had to call me out on it.
"How is this going to work if y/n just tells her boyfriend the answers," Sam said
I rolled my eyes, pretending to be offended by his accusation.
"I would never cheat!" I protested, holding my hand over my heart for effect.
Pietro looked at me with a mixture of amusement and confusion. I could tell that he wasn't sure what was going on.
"Besides, he's not my boyfriend," I added, trying to clear up any misunderstandings.
My dad looked at me with a raised eyebrow.
"I'm so confused," he said.
"He hasn't asked me to be his girlfriend yet, so technically he's not my boyfriend," I explained.
"We're just seeing each other."
Pietro nodded in agreement, although there was a slight uncertainty in his facial expressions that didn't escape my notice.
Any other person probably would've considered this relationship in full swing by now but I did tell Pietro we were taking it slow.
He should know by now that it was going to be princess treatment or nothing. So that means I had to be asked to be his girlfriend it wasn't just going to be assumed.
"Such high standards she really is a Stark," Clint said
"I hope you know Lila comes to me with boy advice," I said
"Oh, high standards are a good thing keep it up," he said and everyone in the room laughed.
We played games for a couple more hours before everyone finally decided to call it quits.
I hung out with Peter for a bit after everyone else dispersed and then he finally left to go have dinner with May.
I again told him to tell May I said hi but he chose to ignore me. It was honestly unfair that he was trying to keep us apart.
I was sitting down on the couch in the communal area when I felt someone's hands over my eyes.
"guess who," the voice said
"Let me guess is it an annoying boy by the name of Pietro," I said and the hands lifted from my eyes.
"This annoying boy is going to take you out tonight, on our proper first date so he suggests you go get ready," he said and I raised my eyebrows
"Oh wow," I said
"Don't be too surprised now" he said
"Wear something fancy and be ready by 5," he said and left the room with no other instructions.
I laughed before finally getting my ass off the couch and to my room to start getting ready for our first official date.
I was excited to see where this night would take us.
