I walked down the road just minding my own business when i heard the sound of a vehicle in the distance.

I stood were i was and waited it to either stop or pass, and to my surprise it slowed down.

It was a SWAT truck, probbaly one of the best things to have in the apocolipse.

Their was no movement from the vehicle, i decoded to make tge first move.

I started to walk forwards slightly before speaking. "do you want me to put my hands up now or-"

I was cut off mid-sentence.

"well unless your planning on killing us then theirs no need" a female voice said.

"who said anything about killing, im just going on a walk" i said sarcasticly.

Suddenly a hatch on top off the truck opened up and two mounted machine guns were aimed at me, the voice spoke again. "you try anything and i light you up"

"fair enough" i said. "you gonna come out then"

"just getting something" they replied.

A woman with short brown hair, dark trousers and a green-ish coat hopped out off the drivers seat, she had a camra.

"so what do you want, food, water?" she asked

"could you give me a ride" i asked.

"were to?" she inquisited.

"yeah, that actually doesn't matter right now" i said.

"ok, i'll make a deal, i give you a lift and you give me your story."

"my what?"

"just a few things about yourself" she said walking towards the back of the truck.

"nice m-wrap by the way" i stated as i followed her. I traced the exterior, the mounted machine guns were definitely add-ons, this beauty must've been hard to find.

"thanks" she said as she banged on the back door.

A man opened the door to let the woman and me in, he was holding a stick.  I gave him a friebdly but confused smile as i passed him, he returned it almost immediately.

"take a seat" the woman said gesturing to the spot infront of her.

She turned the camra on and faced it towards me.

"so what do you want to know?" i said.

"whats your name?" the girl said.

"mishka luvenski" i said, my real accent coming out.

"polish?" the woman asked,a happy smirk appearing on her face.

"yeah, im glad you could tell the diffence" i replied laughing.

"im actually polish myself, my names althea szewczyk-przygocki"

"so what did you do before all this" althea said, changing the topic.

"active military, did some time in the marines then decided to become a doctor" i said, remembering the good days, the safer day's. That is, of course, if you can call bieng in the army safe.

"have you got a group, any family"

"no, been alone since the start"

"are you looking for anyone? Going anywere?"

"that doesn't matter" my voice turned cold, she looked slightly worried as she shared a glance with the two men next to her.

"well i can't think of any other questions at the moment, so for know your done" she said as she got out and went to the front of the truck, she began driving.

"you were down this road weren't you?" she called back behund her.

"yeah, thanks by the way. The span of this road is a long way to go by foot" i called back to her before turning to face the two men opposite me.

One of the men, the one who oppened the door, had a wounded leg and a sharpened stick. The other man had a cowboy-sherrif looking hat.

"hi" i said.

"hello" the one who opened the door smiled with an outstretched hand. "morgan, morgan jones"

"nice to meet you morgan jones" i said as i shook his hand.

"jhon dorie" the other man said, "like the fish but not the fish" he said, i laughed at his statement.

"want a sweet" jhon said as he held up the packet.

"thank you" i said, taking it and eating it, "honest to god, i havent had anything this sugary since this whole thing kicked off."

"so what's the deal with the stick, morgan? If you don't mind me asking, of course" i turned to him, finishing the last of the sweet.

"a friend gave it to me, taught me to fight with it. His name was eastman, he was a good person" he reminisced.

"what happened to eastman?"

"he, umm. He got bit, he didn't make it" he nit his lip and looked down to his feet.

"oh, god morgan, im so sorry. I shouldn't have asked, it was none of my business anyway"

"it-it's fine"

Jhon voice broke the awkward silence, "hey, you haven't by any chance seen a woman with this gun"

He removed the weapon from his holster and held it in his hand.

I had seen it before.

She had told me there was another man woth the same gun, she made me promise not to tell him if i ever saw him.

I never liked lying but i could never break a promise.

"no" i spoke plainly, disguising my lie. Acting clueless towards the gun.

Then the truck came to a halt.

"hey al, why are we stopping?" morgan stood and waddled closer to were the front if the truck was.

"there's a girl in the road" she replyed simply.
