Chapter 3

Friday April 13, 1985

"What did you do yesterday that caused you to ignore my calls?" Armando asked, shaking his head at Richard as he flicked the blunt, dimming the ember. Richard leaned forward to grab his drink, pausing to respond to Armando's absurd question. "I was busy with important matters. Besides, I need to get more cocaine; I finished it all yesterday," he replied with a chuckle.

"Seriously? You must have shared that with someone," Armando said incredulously.

While there was truth in that statement, Richard wasn't about to admit it. The last thing he needed was for anyone to find out about his night with Luna.

"I don't talk to anyone, hombre. I assure you, it all went straight down my nose, and I loved every minute of it," he insisted.

Armando clicked his tongue in disbelief. "You've gotten crazier since the last time I saw you. I don't buy it."

"Whatever. I'm heading out; I have things to take care of," Richard replied as he walked toward the front door, making his way out of the rundown apartment building. He wasn't planning to use the car he had; instead, he intended to acquire another one later that night. For now, he had his daily agenda to fulfill, and he was determined that nothing would stand in his way.

Drugs, sex, murder—these were the trifecta that truly satisfied him. He relished these vices, and when he found himself lacking control, it was the only thing that would irk him.

His mind frequently wandered back to the events of the previous night, contemplating what might have transpired had he allowed her to take full control. While the idea intrigued him, he was acutely aware that she was not particularly special. In his eyes, she could easily serve as nothing more than a plaything.

He was certain he would see her again today, parked right outside her school, waiting for her arrival. She would have no inkling of his intentions.

With a smirk, he shook his head, igniting the engine and pulling away.

Daniel, where the hell have you been? I've been searching everywhere for you, idiot!" Luna nearly shouts, her voice laced with frustration.

"Why are you so mad? I was gone for fifteen minutes, just smoking in the bathroom. What's your problem, dickhead?" he retorts, unfazed.

She rolls her eyes, exhaling sharply. "Dude, did you forget that we had to present that stupid unfinished project together? I had to do it by myself! I'm so embarrassed, oh my gosh!" The humiliation floods back, threatening to spill over in tears as she recalls the looks on her classmates' faces. She wanted to disappear and never return.

"Luna, stop being so dramatic. You'll be fine, damn," Daniel replies, his calm demeanor only infuriating her further as he wears a grin.

Just then, the bell rings, and the two head outside, where They spot Gabriella, who blushes upon their arrival.

"Hey, guys!" she greets cheerfully.

"Hi!" Danny replies, leaning down to plant a kiss on her lips, and they share a warm hug. Luna can't help but smile, though she rolls her eyes playfully at their affection. Her gaze drifts to the right side of the road, where a familiar car catches her attention—it belongs to Richard.

She won't pretend she isn't excited to see him. If she's honest, there's a flutter of something growing inside her. Standing outside in sexy hot pants emblazoned with "Friday the 13th" and a Jason Voorhees mask on her top, which reveals a generous amount of cleavage, she feels daring. She may look a bit provocative, but as long as she matches Gabriella, she doesn't mind.
