Miles in the MM:
Daryn:

I walked out of the campus bookstore and into the warm September air. I quickly shielded my eyes from the bright sun while smoothing out my outfit.

"Whew it's hot!" I said to myself making my way across the courtyard.

"Excuse me!" someone yelled from behind me. I turned around to see a tall guy running towards me. He had to be about 6'2 compared to my 5'5 frame.

"Me?" I asked confused and he nodded.

"You left your I.D. on the counter at the register." He said before handing it to me.

"Oh wow thank you... I'm so forgetful." I said shaking my head.

"No problem, I'm Miles."

"Hi Miles, I'm Daryn."

"Nice to meet you Daryn." He said and I nodded.

"So I can tell your not from D.C just by your accent."

I laughed, "I'm from Maryland actually, but I've been living in Houston all my life."

"Oh for real? I'm from Houston too, well Chicago but then I moved to Houston about seven years ago.."

"So why you choose Howard?"

"I got a full scholarship to play football. How about you?"

"Same here actually minus the football." I laughed as I glanced at the time on my phone and noticed I had ten minutes before my next class.

"Oh wow uh it was nice meeting you but I have class in like ten minutes all the way across campus... I'll see you around though."

"Alright bye Daryn."

"Bye." I said waving and walking towards my AP psychology class.

Miles:

I sat on the bench and cursed myself for not getting Daryn's number.

Howard was a pretty big campus so there was a slim chance I would see her again. I got up from the bench when I noticed Chantel walking towards me. Chantel was someone I had messed with during summer school when the amount of girls were slim on campus and I instantly regretted it.

"Miles!" Chantel yelled towards me.

I groaned to myself and turned around.

"Uh hey Chantel."

"You haven't called me."

"I've been a little busy." I said rubbing my hand through my curls.

"Okay. Well call me later. I wanna talk." She said winking at me as she walked away with her group of friends following closer behind her.

I rolled my eyes knowing I wasn't going to call her unless I got bored again.

I looked at my watch and decided to go to my dorm and take a quick nap with the little time I had before my last class at four.

I walked through the library, while carrying my gym bag and quickly found a table to set up my laptop.

I sighed because I knew I only had a week to finish this essay of twelve pages over a book I had never read. College so far for me was definitely a rude awakening, all this work was overwhelming and way different from high school.

I walked over to the front desk and asked where I could find the specific book.

"On aisle seven it should be on the top shelf if there are any copies left." The student clerk said.
