Anxiety weaved it's way deep into your skin. Peony trotted next to your side. Her innocent doe eyes were curiously scouring your perturbed face. The small milky white Pegasus rubbed her head against your leg as an attempt to comfort you but you didn't take notice of it. You bit the soft and tender flesh of your lip. 'Who was that man?' Is the question that kept ringing through your head.
A small sigh left your mouth. Your heart was still pounding from when you ran away from the strange and unsettling man. Chills ran down your back from the memory of how he stared at you. It made you feel uneasy. You continued walking down the cobblestone path. Peony snorted, rubbing harder against you. You slightly jumped.
"Oh, I'm sorry Peony." You sighed. "I was lost in my own thoughts." Peony's doe eyes narrowed. You chuckled. You brought a hand down to the soft ears of your Pegasus. "You remind me so much of Odette..." You froze, suppressing the next words from leaving your mouth. Odette, your best friend, the person you miss most. You haven't seen or heard from her ever since Brunhilde kidnapped you. You let out a small sigh.
You pulled away from the young Pegasus while forcing a small smile upon your saddened face. "Let's head back." You silently spoke. "I'm getting a little tired and hungry." Your voice slightly breaks off at the end of your sentence. It wasn't up until now that the feeling of being homesick struck you. With you feeling quite dazed, you walked back towards the large marble building out in the far opening. Peony followed you closely, sensing your defeated sadness.
Your eyes trailed alongside of the luscious green of the fresh grass. Small and dainty flowers were emerged out from the rich soil, their colors proudly shining in the warm sun rays of the bright sun. But you paused upon seeing a certain flower. It was a Lily of the Valley flower. It's pearly white color blossomed it's way into sight from the green surroundings. It hung low as if sad but it's beauty still was there. It was so vaguely familiar. Then it dawned upon you.
It was five years ago. A young girl of the mere age of 14 years confidently strutted across a valley with a dirtied leather book in hand. Her H/C hair bounced with each step she took. Her quizzical eyes scanned her surroundings. Flowers upon flowers were scattered across the breathtaking scenery. Each flower had its own unique trait from it's color to it's structure.
The further she went, the more flowers blossomed, emerging out into the warm morning air. Her worn down boots were soon coated in the dark rich soil of the earth. Her eyes still trailed upon everything in plain sight. Then she stopped. Her eyes caught onto something that looked like small pearls. She squatted down, aligning her eyesight better with the striking beauty of the flower. It's pearly white petals were sagging with a luscious green holding it all in place.
"That's a Lily of the Valley." A soft voice stabbed the once complete silence. The 14 year old yelled out in surprise. Whipping her head around, her widened eyes land onto an equally startled girl. Their eyes meet. "S-sorry..." The startled girl whispered, cascading her eyes to the ground. "I didn't mean to startle you..." The 14 year old placed a hand upon her chest, feeling the rapid motion of her vastly beating heart.
