Under Jennie's gaze, the man's voice grew increasingly softer, and eventually, he was silenced.
Jennie cast a glance at the person. "The company does have its own policy. If the funding of an activity surpasses the limit stated, the amount needs to be approved by all the management at a higher level."
How could these people not understand the hint from Jennie's words? If she wanted to seek approval for the fund that had exceeded the limit from the management of a higher level, she was actually referring to Woobin. Judging from her relationship with Woobin, once the fund had been approved, these people would take advantage of this opportunity to discuss the topic. If that was the case, what was the difference between now and asking Woobin to make the decision from the beginning?
Unfortunately, these people seemed to have underestimated her.
As Jennie thought of this, she could not help but raise one of her eyebrows in a mocking manner and smirked, "However, if I remember correctly, the company still has other rules. If the event planner could pull in more sponsors to invest in the stock, he could take five percent of the funds invested by the investor to use it on the activity. By doing so, he could make up for the previous exceeding fund and need not report."
The person was stunned. He said with careful deliberation, "Indeed, there's such a rule. But..."
"That's it. It'll be good to know that we do have such a rule." Jennie immediately interrupted the person. She took a very heavy document from Xiao Jingyao and flung it across the table. "The inside of these documents contain several contracts from new companies who have invested in the stocks. The funds drawn out from them could add up to eight million dollars. If I remember correctly, Chief Kim's proposal also requires eight million dollars, right? If I top up this fund on my foundation, I believe it could make up for the funds on my part, right?"
Right after Jennie spoke, the entire meeting room started to stir into a discussion. If Jennie was able to pull out five percent from the investment fund which was eight million dollars, in other words, the sponsors whom Jennie had pulled in had invested at least two hundred million dollars! Which sponsors were so rich and generous to invest that much? They could simply kill someone just by flinging money at them!
Jennie seemed to have read the crowd's mind. She smiled faintly. She stretched out her finger and pointed to a document placed at the top as she said, "Oh, by the way, I forget to mention that a lot of people over here have signed the contract because they show their respect for me. For instance, in order to increase the investment amount from Kang Group, it has taken me much effort to persuade them."
Jennie's words were akin to reminding the crowd in another way that these contracts had been nailed down by her. Those people had signed the contracts all because they gave their honor to her. If the crowd were to say a no and refute her proposal, the contracts would be in vain.
In other words, they had better weighed the cost and benefits on their own.
Moreover, Jennie deliberately mentioned Kang Group because the third young master of the Kang family who had courted Jennie before was now the head of the Kang family.
The Kang Group was one of the four greatest families. If they were willing to invest in this project, the invested amount would certainly be huge. This, of course, was all because they gave their respects to Jennie. Once Jennie's proposal was refuted, the contract would undoubtedly be taken back. Besides, they would also offend the Kang family because of this.
Given two options between earning peanuts of profit and offending the Kang family that would result in losing a huge investment fund, most people knew well in their hearts how to weigh the situation.
For a moment, a majority of people looked like their faith was shaken slightly.
Xiao Jingyao stood behind Jennie. Upon hearing Jennie's words, he could not help but push back the glasses on the bridge of his nose. He lowered his head. The reflection of the mirror of his glasses had covered the twitches of the corners of his lips.
'What do you mean by putting a lot of effort in persuasion? General Manager, are you sure you've put in even the slightest bit of effort in persuasion? He has clearly handed this over to you!'
Minchul furrowed his eyebrows when he saw the expressions of the crowd in the meeting who looked like their faith was shaken. He had never thought Jennie would use this trick. He had truly underestimated her.
As he shifted his gaze and looked at Jennie who was at her main seat, he was surprised to find that at that moment, Jennie was also staring at him.
Their gazes met each other. Minchul clearly felt the hint of mockery and scorn from Jennie's eyes. His heart clutched. He subconsciously clenched his hands that were placed under the office table so tight that blood almost spurted out.
Regardless of Seulgi or Lisa, he thought that with Jennie's conditions, it was totally impossible for these two men to court her, much less her using the main family's power. The gossip spread before this seemed iffy, perhaps certain people had merely passed on the rumors.
Who would have thought that he would get slapped by Jennie mercilessly in his face today?! Darn it. What charm did this woman have to the extent of attracting the third young master of the Kang family? Apparently... apparently, she was only a wimp who could not fight back nor scold back and could be manipulated by others. She was an abandoned, tainted woman!
Jennie cast a glance across the crowd. She still had not had enough of it. Just when she was about to reveal her strongest weapon, the door of the meeting room opened all of a sudden.
Inside the meeting room, the crowd's attention was immediately distracted upon hearing the commotion. Soon, they saw a young lady whose face had turned red peeked out from outside the meeting room.
Her expression quickly changed when she saw so many people inside the meeting room looking at her. She was scared to death. She gritted her teeth, lowered her head as she dashed over to Jennie and her group.
"Solar?" When Jennie saw her coming over, she could not help but frown. A hint of worry flashed across her eyes. Although she knew that Solar was retarded, she certainly would not simply run over here to disrupt them, except... there was something urgent.
Solar came close to Xiao Jingyao and whispered in his ear. Xiao Jingyao's expression changed slightly. He nodded his head at Solar before he walked to Jennie's side and spoke in a volume where only the two of them could hear, "General Manager, the president and general manager of Sheng Huang Group are waiting for you at your office. They have something urgent which they prefer to talk to you in private."
"Sheng Huang Group?" Jennie was stupefied. Sheng Huang Group and Sheng Shi Group only differed by one word, yet they were two completely different companies.
Sheng Shi Group had only focused on stocks and securities which were part of financial bonds. However, Sheng Huang Group was different. This company expanded its businesses in various directions and industries including entertainment, food and beverage, finance and even property development. Compared to Sheng Huang Group, Sheng Shi Group was only a drop in the ocean which was considered nothing.
Even Kim Enterprise was inferior to Sheng Huang Group. The company had the money. As such, they could invest in any industry that they desire and earn a lot of money!
Why would the president and general manager of such a company look for her? If she had remembered correctly, she never had any past dealings with this company..
