Today is the biggest party of the year. I'm back. Back to this town that started everything. I use to live here as a little girl. My mom told me my dad snapped one day and just ran off with some lady. So, when i was about 5 years old, the last time i saw my dad he was saying hi to the family next door.
Now, back to that party. There was only one girl in school i ever got along with. Mary-Jane Holly, who i ran into the first day back in town when i took a walk down my old street. She lived four houses down and across the street. She was just about to get in a car when she looked up and screamed.
"Macy Jade Hakie is that you? " she yelled my way.
"The one and only." I replied shrugging my shoulders.
She ran to me and hugged me.
"I Missed you. When did you get back?" she asked.
A guy got out the car and yelled, " Babe, Lets go. The guys are waiting."
"Hold on." she yelled back.
"A week ago. I'm living with my aunt now. My mom passed away, so brought her back here to be buried." I said with emotions in my voice.
She hugged me. "Well there is a party tonight you should come. Get your mind off all that sad stuff. It's right here at my house. Say you'll come!!"
"Yeah, I have nothing else to do with my life right now." i sad sarcastically.
"Okay see you then." she hugged me and ran back to the car and left.
I walked a long way. Just looking at everything that looked the same yet different at the same time. I looked up from the sidewalk... I was staring at the gate that led to the grave yard of the only person who ever cared about me.
" Hey mom, we made it. back to your home town. I made sure you were buried right next to your parents. I know i never got to meet them but i know they were great parents because they raised you, and you raised me......"
I talked to her till i looked up and saw the sun setting. I was going to be late. I still had to walk all the way across town and still get ready for the party. I said my goodbyes and headed back to the house.
I walked through front door, to see my aunt and he sleazy husband sitting down with the kids for dinner.
"Macy, dinner is ready. You hungry?" My aunt sweetly asked.
"No. Thank you though. I'm going to a party with Mary-Jane." I replied.
"Oh how is Mary? Tell her mom i said hi." she said as i walked down the hall to my room.
'Ha like her mom will be there.' I thought to my self. I took a shower and I pulled out a dress my mom had bought me before she passed. I never got a chance to wear it. This seemed like the perfect time to wear it. I grabbed my phone, took one last look in the mirror, shut my door and locked it.
"I Love you babe" I heard Rich say to my aunt.
I walked to the front door, " It's bad manners to say 'I love you' when your mouth is full of lies." He looked at me with such hate. I smiled and shut the front door behind me.
I turned the corner to see cars blocking the street and the teens running and laughing . I squeezed by the cars and people to bump right into Mary.
"Hey Girl, What did you do all day?" she said slurring her words and spilling the drink in her hand. I took her drink out her hand and helped her back to the house.
"Well, I went and talked to my mom. I like the dead. They make good conversation." I said sipping her drink.
From there the rest of the party...
