Chapter 5: Heartbeat

Narrator's POV:

(The Courier can bee seen on a ridge from around 600 feet from Uzi's home looking at it with his binoculars. He sees Uzi,N, and a male worker drone outside the entrance talking to the guard.)

The Courier's POV:

I stop looking at the entrance and use my Pip-boy to listen to a radio frequency that I placed on N when I helped remove the virus in his code. I tuned into the frequency and listened to what they were talking about. While I was listening to the conversation I headed down the ridge of the cliff and ran to the entrance. Uzi's and her friends already went inside and the door locked behind them, but Six had a idea to get inside. He knocked at the blast door entrance and the guard opened his window and said,"what are doing here human?" Uzi's father and I had a deal. "And what was that deal with Khan again", said the guard with a questionable look on his visors. The deal was, if his daughter came back unharmed I come in any time I need. "Oh yeah sorry I don't have a good memory, come on in." The guard then opened the entrance and Six entered and the door slammed behind him. The guard then looked at him and said,"So how were you able to survive outside with low amounts of oxygen." A survivor doesn't reveal his secrets, the then glazes at the wall behind the guard showing a missing worker drones poster. So I see that you have a missing worker drone problem? The Courier says to the Guard with interest. "Yes we have been missing worker drones and our investigators are on the case to solve the issue." I would like to help with your missing worker drone issue that has gone arie. "Why would let you do that human, the first time we saw you,you were violent and kidnapped Uzi." I understand we got off on the wrong foot,plus I helped you guys with the disassembly drones trying to kill all of you. "Ok it seems like I can trust you human", he then walks over to Six and gives him a paper with the picture of the worker drones, with their names and last location. Oh and please don't call me human, I prefer the codename Six. Why that name", says the guard with a puzzled expression on his face. Its what I'm used to be called by. "Ok Six I hope you can help us with the problem at our hands and help us,and good luck." Good luck to you as well and he shakes the guard hands and walks away and sees behind him that the guard was amazed that he touched a real human.

Six looks at the poster with the missing worker drones on it and then says "strange most of these bots are about the same age as human teenagers." He then looks in front of him to see an crime scene with a couple agents at the scene with caution tape around the area. He then hears movement in the walls and ceiling like metal scraping and slithering. Wait a second something isn't adding up, and he pulls his Ranger Sequoia and firing a round into one of the agents, but to only phase out and disappear from the scene with a sea blue glow. Almost everything disappears and the only real thing that was there is a female worker drone agent at the fake crime scene, she looks over at Six's location in confusion. Suddenly a drop of oil lands on her hair and revealing what looks to be an horrifying amalgamation of metal claws and tentacles about to eat her. Then a 50 caliber explosive round hits the amalgamation taking a huge chunk out of it leaving fire at the chunk causing it flee away into the ceiling in pain. Run I will cover you from whatever that thing is! Six and the agent run away from the scene with The Courier covering her from behind. They run to were the worker drones defense force main office is located and lock the door behind them. The agent out of breath takes a seat at the front desk to regain her bearings. The office is empty of anybody life besides the agent and The Courier. She takes a sip of her hot coffee she make puts her glasses at the desk and walks towards The Courier. "Thank you whoever you are for saving me", said the Agent To Six with a exhausted voice. The Courier gives her a piece of paper and heads to the door and is stopped by the agent by tugging his trenchcoat. "I know you're busy but can I talk to you sometime." I know you want to get to know me more,but if you want to contact me my info is on the paper. He then gives her a flare gun and hugs her and pats her on the back before exiting the office. Six walks down the hallway and loads his Antimateral Rifle with explosive rounds. "Alright lets blow off some pent up steam", Six says to himself going to hunt the amalgamation.
