Today was Monday, and you were going to begin your education at Foxfire.
You woke up and did what you had to do and changed into your uniform. You looked at yourself in the reflection. You were disgusted at what you saw: a half cape, leggings and skirt were horrible and so you changed into something more likable and comfortable: a baggy jeans and an oversized hoodie.
You touched up with your hair and make up. Perfect, you told yourself. As you walked out of the bathroom, Sophie was going there to check on how you were doing.
"Oh y/n! There you are—" she took one look at you and sighed. "Look, I know that you aren't particularly fond of the uniform, but you have to—"
"Nope! You decide, cutting her off, walking to the Leapmaster. She dragged her hands down her face, sighing, but she followed you nonetheless. You called out "Foxfire!" excitedly.

You glittered onto the prestigious academy grounds. Even upon seeing the place the day before, its beauty never ceased to amaze you.
"... Y/n! Over here!" Ari yelled. You walked over to them, smiling all the while. Seems like you weren't the only one who didn't wear the uniform: Eli was wearing her signature oversized sweater and pants, while Ari was wearing a matching purple-and-white set. You three began talking about how stupid the uniform was.
Together, you linked arms, and walked in to the academy building, while continuing your talk about stupid uniforms.
As you walked in with your friends, prodigies were running around, talking to their friends and catching up.
The chatter quited down a bit as the projector showed Dame Alina's face on screen. She began with the daily announcements.
"Good morning, prodigies. First and foremost, whoever put reekrod in my desk over the weekend will— it's not funny!" She snapped as everyone cracked up. "Mark my words—whoever it was will be punished to the fullest extent of my abilities.
She paused before she continued. Last week we had fourteen prodigies detect special abilities—a new record." She clapped. "And last but not least,—where are they?—oh, there they are!" She said as a spotlight shone on the three of you. Meet our new and very first human students, Y/n L/n, Aria and Eliora Taylor!"
As she said your names, Ari winked, Eli just bowed sarcasticly and you gave your signature mock salute.
The crowd just stared and said nothing. Soon, the whispers began.
"Are those humans?"
"The humans."
"What are they doing in OUR, school, OUR home?!"
"Why does that one in the middle get all they attention from Keefe! I've seen them together, and it's just so annoying!"
The last comment was from a girl with an annoying, nasal voice. You decided that if they werent going to likeyou, at least show them you're not weak. With the spotlight still on you, you took a deep breath and said:
"Listen up, people. First, our preferred pronouns are she, not it. Second of all, our lives are about to get super stressful right now, cause you have an enemy, and we're going to use our knowledge to help you defeat them, so instead of being rude and bitchy, maybe, just maybe, you could be grateful that you have us?"
"Humans are filthy and don't deserve to be here!" A voice spoke up from the crowd.
"Yeah, we certainly deserve better than this!" Eli argued back, she said, stepping closer to the girl who insulted us, cracking her knuckles.
"Oh, so they're violent too!"
"Oh I'll show you violent you little sh—"
Keefe entered the conversation by saying, "Ladies, ladies, break it up! C'mon Zyrah, they're not that ba—whoa! What are you doi—" Keefe suddenly got pushed to the side by Ari, and she punched that girl right in the nose.
The crowd gasped as the girl went flying to the floor, as blood spilled down her nose like a running tap. She burst into tears while holding her nose, and her friends rushed to help her.
"Okay now this," Ari started, "is what happens when you start a fight with me, Eliora or y/n. Got that?" Ari said, dead seriousness in her eyes. Everyone shakily nodded their heads in agreement as the spotlight finally turned off.
Keefe whistled, "Who knew you girls had such fire in you. You gotta teach me your ways!" He said, excitement sparking in his eyes.
Biana walked up to you guys and gave you high fives. "Ari, I have a feeling you and I are gonna get along just fine. Anyway, you totally put that snob in her place! I can't wait 'til you meet Stina!"
"Oh, I can't wait either," you said cracking your knuckles to prove a point.
"Adorable," Keefe just said. You gave him a deadpanned look. "Seriously? Y'know what, please just shut up. I have someone to get to." You grumbled in reply.
He walked close to you. "In which way do you mean, sweetheart?" He asked, wiggling his eyebrows in a suggestive manner.
You rolled your eyes at him. "First of all don't call me—" your face reddened in embarrassment after realizing what he meant. "Ewwwwww, no! What is wrong with you?!" You said, pinching his shoulder.
He laughed, a joyful sound that made your heart flutter and your stomach feel like a pit of butterflies swarming in there. "Don't worry, I was just kidding,"
There was a moment of silence when his face went more serious. "Unless, you don't want me to be joking," he said, this time, coming closer to you as he says it.You shoved his shoulder again and he chuckled again. "Stop it! I'm serious, before that girl won't be the only one with a broken nose."
He slightly paled at your words, but his lopsided smirk returned to his face. "See you later, sweetheart," he called out as he walked away, leaving you and your friends along with the others that came to congratulate you.
"Soooo, what did he say?" Eli asked with a tone that you didn't particularly like. You blushed in embarrassment again and went to go and chase her. She took off running. And you chased her until you felt your legs give up on you as she collapsed next to you.
Things in the Lost Cities were not going to be as terrible as you thought.
