Ch. 4

Draco waited for Noah at the one of the nearby pubs drinking a cup of beer he didn't want. He continuously fidgeted with the ribbon that was attached to his birthday present, stupidly trying to push his feelings away. The door rings open and Draco turns around to see Noah out of breath with his hair a mess and a wide grin.

Despite Draco's feelings he managed to smile back.

"Draco" Noah said with a chuckle

"Hi" Draco smiled back as Noah made himself comfortable next to him.

Noah ordered a beer for himself and when he saw the bouquet of flowers his eyebrows raised in confusion "What's that?" Noah asked.

Draco looked down at the flowers beside him and sighed "A gift"

Noah hums in response "What for?"

Draco bites his lip "It's my birthday today"

Noah's eye widen and he clears his throat "Happy birthday Draco, you shoulda told me" Noah says surprised

Draco just shakes his head "No it's fine there was no need"

Draco drank his beer in silence after that and Noah shifted in his seat "are you ok?" Noah whispered.

The concern laced in his throat already made Draco regret coming to him for any source of comfort and he sighed.

"To be honest no" Draco replied truthfully with a sigh "I'm sorry to say, but I don't think we should see each other anymore"

Draco could feel Noah's body tense but he didn't have the heart to turn around and look at him.

"Can I ask why?" Noah said softly

Draco cleared his throat, blinking away the tears that were already beginning to form "I fell in love with someone I shouldn't have today, and I called you here in an attempt to distract myself from it all and hopefully fall in love with you instead but it's proven to be ineffective. I'm sorry for being an asshole and bringing you all this way" Draco said simply while drinking his beer again, this time not bothered to conceal his disgust.

Noah just sighed beside him and nodded "I see"

Draco turned to look at Noah, surprised at his response "That's it?" he asked "Aren't you mad at me? Upset?"

Noah just shrugs and takes a sip of his own beer "I would've been really upset if you did go through with that plan of yours, but the fact you told me honestly I can't be mad at that"

Draco sighed "But why?"

Noah shrugged again "Because I like you"

The statement made Draco's heart squeeze with guilt but Noah just shook his head with a small smile "Besides, it was kind of obvious you weren't really into me"

Draco raised his brow "How so?"

Noah laughed "You really don't know?"

Draco shook his head.

"You just never really wanted to advance anything with me, our conversations always felt like me asking questions and you just replying. I always messaged you whenever I had the chance and you didn't really"

Draco frowned sighing a bit to himself, because it was true and Draco was frustrated with himself even more, but Noah smiled and waved his hands around trying to reassure Draco "That isn't your fault however, it just shows that I was just more into you that's all"

Draco sighed "Still, I'm sorry"

Noah shook his head "Don't be"

They both drank in silence
