Hey everyone,

Here's a oneshot that I've been working on for the past few weeks on and off. What I expected to be around a 3000 word story has turned into over 17000 words. It's by far the longest oneshot I've ever written and I'm sure I'll never write another this long.

Anyway I hope you like it & let me know what you think!

Happy reading!

'I'm telling you Cheryl, there's no way even you can convince the whole school to make that loser prom queen,' Veronica said. 'I mean just look at her.'

The two cheerleaders looked over to the new girl holding her books tightly to her chest as she navigated the crowded halls of Riverdale High. Her eyes cast down, leaving her thick black framed glasses clinging to the end of her nose.

'If I've told you once Veronica, I've told you a thousand times. I control this school, and I know I can make even her popular enough to be voted this years prom queen, but why, pray tell, would I want to give someone else the opportunity to wear my crown?'

'Well, how about we don't let her actually become prom queen, but instead make her believe she stands a chance,' Josie added, a mischievous glint in her eye that made the redhead raise an eyebrow at the idea.

'I don't know. I mean, look at the way she's dressed. If I manage to pull this off, what do I get?'

'The satisfaction of watching her face fall when she realises it's all a joke and how a loser like her will never ever be one of us. Honestly you'd be doing the world a favour.'

'Fine, challenge accepted.'

Cheryl waited in her usual seat at the back of her English class, as soon as the brunette walked into the room the redhead called her over. 'Hey! New girl!'

Toni wasn't the only one to turn around, most of the class did. A lot of them with a confused look on their faces as they watched the situation unfold expecting, at least, some commotion.

'Sit here, next to me,' Cheryl said as she reached over to pull out the chair, she could see that the girl was uncomfortable, but she ignored it. 'Come on, I don't bite.'

After giving her a simple nod, unsure of how to refuse, Toni took the seat giving the redhead a small smile before organizing her books on the wooden desk. Cheryl just watched her for a moment, a slight feeling of guilt trickled through her, but she shook it off. Being nice gets you nowhere.

'Hey nerd!' A voice boomed. 'You're in my seat.'

'Not anymore Reginald. Your seat now belongs to... Antoinette, is it?' Cheryl asked turning her head to the new girl who was already shoving her books into her bag.

'Toni,' she said barely loud enough to hear. 'I'll move. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to take your seat.'

'Reggie, tell Toni that your seat is now at the front of the class, and that this one belongs to her...'

The boy huffed, 'you can have the seat.'

Cheryl grinned victoriously as he turned around and dropped into the other chair with the feeling of power surging through her veins. Other students were still looking at them, whispering between themselves before the teacher finally quietened them down.

'Hey,' Cheryl whispered once their teacher was more concerned with his laptop than his students. 'My friends and I saw you in the hallway, and I'm about to make you an offer you can't refuse...'
