I stood there, watching the exchange between the brothers, amusement dancing in my eyes. Elijah was clean and calculated as always, wiping Daniel's blood off his hands like he was dealing with a minor inconvenience. Klaus, on the other hand, had that look on his face—the one he always gets when he's been caught doing something shady, and now he's got to pretend it's all fine.

"You look surprised to see me. So it wasn't you that removed the dagger from my chest?" Elijah's voice was as cool as ever, but there was an edge to it. He was pissed, and honestly, it was kinda entertaining to watch Klaus squirm.

Klaus, ever the smooth talker, smiled his charming little smile and shrugged. "You look like you could do with a drink. And we have a lot to discuss, so shall we?"

Before Klaus could even finish his sentence, Elijah was already on him—because when does anything ever go Klaus's way when it involves family? Klaus went flying through a window like he was just a ragdoll, and I couldn't help but let out a laugh. That's gotta hurt.

Elijah straightened up, looking at me with a hard gaze. "I think you should go, Eliana. It's family business now."

I raised an eyebrow, crossing my arms over my chest. "Oh, I'm sure it is. But honestly, I'm enjoying seeing Klaus get beat up. It's a rare sight." I smirked, the humor in my voice thick.

Elijah sighed, clearly not amused, though there was a flicker of something in his eyes. "I'm sure you do, but I need you to go."

I threw my hands up in mock defeat. "Fiiiine," I groaned dramatically. "But it was nice meeting you, Elijah Mikaelson. You really know how to throw a party."

"The pleasure's all mine, Eliana Marshall," he replied, his tone almost soft, but still serious.

"Right," I muttered, rolling my eyes. "Guess I'll leave you two to your family drama." I took one last look at the wreckage Klaus had just caused for himself before turning to head out. It wasn't like I'd get much of a kick out of whatever happened next...or maybe I would. Who knows?

But for now, I had other things to do.

I leaned against the wall in the hallway, next to Elena, waiting for Caroline to return. The air felt thick, like something was coming, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Of course, just when I thought we might have a moment of calm, Caroline walked toward us with that familiar determined look on her face.
