The Missing Year

- After Regina undid her and Pan's curses, Emma, Angie and Henry moved to New York, believing that their apartment in Boston had burned down.

- When the purple-green smoke cleared, Regina, David, Snow, Belle, Hook, Neal, Granny, Ruby and the Dwarves found themselves back in the Enchanted Forest, dressed in their fairy-tale clothes and standing next to Aurora and Philip.

After spending the night with the couple, everyone started heading towards Regina's castle. Everyone except Hook, who left on his own to find his ship. Jiminy, back in his cricket form, informed the group that the people of Storybrooke were popping up all over the land.

During the trek, Regina tried to bury her own heart so she didn't have to feel the pain of losing Henry, but Snow convinced not to. Shortly after, they were attacked by a flying monkey. It was then that they meet Robin Hood and the Merry Men, who decided to accompany them on their way.

When they finally arrived at the castle, Regina found out someone had taken over her castle and put a magic barrier around it. After a second attack by the flying monkeys, they figured the person at the castle was the Wicked Witch from the land of Oz.

At night, Regina sneaked on her own to take down the protection spell around the castle, but Robin Hood followed her as payment for rescuing his son earlier.

Once inside the castle, Regina prepared a Sleeping Curse, planning to use it on herself after taking down the barrier, but before she could, the Wicked Witch walked in and introduced herself as Zelena, Regina's half-sister.

Motivated by Zelena's threats to make Regina suffer a fate worse than death, she decided to live to wreck Zelena's life.

February, 2013

- Unable to find his ship, Hook became a land-pirate, along with Mr. Smee and some other crew members.

One night, after a successful heist, Hook met Ariel, who accused him of kidnapping Prince Eric onto the Jolly Roger. Thanks to her, he learned that Black Beard was now in possession of his ship.

Once they found him, Hook defeated Black Beard in a duel for the Jolly Roger, but Black Beard tried to make a deal with him: he'd give up Eric's location in exchange for the Jolly Roger, but Hook refused, forcing Ariel to find Eric on her own. She eventually found him on Hangman's Island, off the coast of the Enchanted Forest.

Late-March

- Ever since Hook left to find his ship, Neal had hoped to find something at his father's castle that could bring him back or take him back to the Real World, back to Emma and Henry.

After convincing Belle to join him, the both of them went back to the castle and started looking through all the books in the library.

One day, Belle accidentally awoke Lumiere, a person trapped inside a candelabra. With his help, they found a book about the Dark One's Vault and the key, hidden inside the book, to open it.

The following day, under Lumiere's instructions, they headed to a forest clearing, finding the Vault's entry on the ground, under the snow. But Belle caught Lumiere in a lie and he admitted he was cursed by the Wicked Witch, who wanted the Dark One alive so she could control him with the Dagger.

Ignoring Belle's warnings, Neal opened the Vault, unaware that the price to revive the Dark One was to lose his own life. However, Rumpelstiltskin absorbed him into his own body to save him. Unfortunately, Zelena arrived and took the Dagger, gaining control over a crazy Rumpelstiltskin.

Mid-April

- David woke up from a nightmare where he couldn't save Emma and Angie only to learn that Snow was pregnant again.

Snow and David where discussing whether it was a good idea or not to announce their pregnancy with Regina, Philip and Aurora when Belle arrived with news about Neal and Rumpelstiltskin.

Aurora tried to warn Snow about Zelena's plan to get her baby, but Zelena arrived and turned her and Philip into monkeys, staying long enough to make sure Snow White's baby would be perfect for her plans.

Early-May

- Emma and Angie had gone to Walsh's furniture shop, 'The Wizard of Oak', to buy some new furniture for their new apartment. Two weeks before they were scheduled to pick up the order, Walsh called Angie to come get it. When she arrived, he asked her out, and she agreed.

- David was still terrified of the idea of becoming a father and messing up. Again. He was able to keep it under control when he was with Snow, but Robin Hood noticed his behaviour. Hoping to help his newly found friend, Robin suggested that David seek out a plant called 'Night-Root', which grew at the edge of Sherwood Forest and could help overcome his fear.

On arrival to the location, David found a woman trapped in a tower: Rapunzel. He was able to help her escape by encouraging her to fight her worst fears, which had come to life after she'd ingested the Night-Root.

David returned Rapunzel back home, now confident that he would be able to protect his new child without the help of any magic plant.

Late-December

- After months of trying to find a way to stop Zelena, the group formed by Snow, David, Regina, Belle and Robin Hood decided to go see Rumpelstiltskin. He had been able to warn them about Regina's curse the first time, so maybe he could do it again.

When they found him, he told them to find Glinda, the Good Witch of the South, who had been banished to the Dark Forest in the Enchanted Forest. Snow, David and Regina went to find her, but only Snow and David were allowed to talk to her, and she told them that Zelena could only be hurt by light magic.

Realizing only Angie could defeat Zelena, Snow and David asked Regina to prepare a new Dark Curse which Snow would cast by crushing David's heart.

As they were casting the curse, Zelena came and added a forgetting potion to it, making sure that nobody will have knowledge of the previous year once back in Storybrooke. Worried about not remembering David, Snow asked Regina to split her heart in two so they both could live. Regina was unsure of this, but she surprisingly succeeded.

- Zelena prepared two vials of memory potion to counteract the effects of the curse. She drank one of them and gave the other to Rumpelstiltskin. But before he could drink it, Neal took control and escaped his father's body long enough to send the vial to Hook with instructions to bring Emma and Angie back.

- Hook was sailing on the Jolly Roger when he received Neal's message. Only he didn't know it came from Neal. When he saw the curse coming, he abandoned his crew and outran the curse with his ship. Now that the barrier between the worlds was gone, he began looking for a way to cross realms.

- Noticing that Henry seemed sad, Emma took her son to a fountain in New York. There, Henry made a wish.

- After about a week of searching, Hook made a deal with Black Beard: the Jolly Roger for a magic bean.
