I went into my office feeling heartbroken. But who am I to say that, I knew this was one-sided anyways.. Fantasies of him just flew out of my head, my body felt weak, and my heart sank.. I sat on the couch and just overthinking about everything. "Y/N, are you ok?" Areum went over to me and placed her tiny hands over mine, "Yea I'm fine, I'm just a little tired.." I answered back. She hummed in response and sat beside me and leaned her head on my arms.

I didn't know what to feel. I just felt.. selfish and hurt..

I tried to be happy for Areum because I didn't want her to worry. 2 hours later, Areum was sleeping on my couch and I was doing work at my desk. I just kept doing some work despite what I felt. I kept typing only to realize what I typed. I typed out my thoughts.. I read everything I typed and deleted it immediately.

A couple of hours later, I was packing my things and woke up Areum. I carried my bag and we went to Jeonghan's office. "See you tomorrow, Areum-ah~," I said while patting her head, I tried leaving before Jeonghan saw me. "Y/N, could we talk?" Jeonghan asked, "Uhh, Its kinda late. I gotta go home" "I'll drive you home-" "Goodbye Mr.Yoon"

I rejected his offer then I felt kinda guilty. I couldn't stand even looking at him. I left the building and got a taxi to my house. I arrived safely and ate my dinner then I went to bed.

The next morning, I entered the building and got myself breakfast from the cafe. I didn't have much time to eat in the cafe so I just took my meal and went to my office. It was a really busy day and I had to get all of the work done before the summer vacation that Mr.Yoon gave us all so we could rest.

I typed as fast as I could and tried finishing up some paperwork before Jeonghan came. After a couple of minutes, I printed all the files I needed to submit to him and went to his office. Luckily, I was lucky to finish up 30 minutes before he usually comes to his office. "Good morning, Y/N.." I hear a voice behind me after I placed all of the files on his table. "Good morning Sir," I said as I bowed and I tried to leave the room.

Before I left, He tightly grabbed my wrist to stop me. I flinched and he loosened his grip. "Could we talk after work?" He asked, I made up some stupid excuse because I knew the conversation was gonna get awkward if we talk after what happened. "I have to go to dinner with my parents later, I can't..", "Could we talk tomorrow?", "Sir.. I have a lot of things due I don't have time", "I'll cancel all of your work plans tomorrow. Still busy?" I stood there frozen, I was running out of excuses and just gave up.

I went back to my office and did some work. Areum came in then we hung out for a small while in my office and we both got cupcakes from the cafe. 

Weeks went by, repeating the same thing over and over again. I kept ignoring Jeonghan and work was busier than ever. Sadly, Areum hasn't been coming to the building in quite a while.. "Y/N-ah" One of my co-workers came in. "Yes?" "Here are the files Mr. Yoon needed. It just needs to be signed and approved by him before tomorrow" She leaves my office and I go to Jeonghan's office.

Before I entered and I heard a woman's voice. "Jeonghan! She's our daughter. You can't keep her away from me!" "I have full custody of her.. I know you're drunk.. I don't want my daughter to be influenced by you.. Now go away before I call security" I hear Jeonghan say. I knock on the door and entered. I saw the woman glaring at me and Jeonghan sat up from his seat and went up to me.

"Sir, Mrs.Kim told me to hand these files to you.. They need to be signed before tomorrow" I said without making eye contact. I slightly bowed and left the room. THAT WAS SOOO AWKWARD- HELP-. I ran to my office and had my back against the glass door. So that's Areum's mom. Interesting..

I did more work until it was the end of my shift, I worked a little bit of overtime because I wanted to finish everything before summer. "FINALLY!" I said after I submitted my last document. I packed my bag, shut off my computer, and closed the lights in my office. I was the only one on my floor aside from Jeonghan. 

I heard footsteps coming from behind me and I looked back, It was Jeonghan. His neatly ironed suit, hands in his pockets, and his slightly messy hair. "Going home?" He asked as we both walked towards the elevator. "Yea" "Do you need a ride? I mean, Its pretty late, and its dangerous for you to go out alone" I agreed and we both went in his car.

The car ride was pretty awkward. I looked at the buildings in my car window as his eyes were fixed on the road. We reached my house and he walked me to my door.

"Goodnight, sir.." I said, I was about to close the door but he held it open. "uh.. Are you free tomorrow? Areum said she really missed you" "Yea sure" "Can I come to pick you up at 7 pm tomorrow?" "Sure". 

"Goodnight, Y/N" He let go of the door and walked away. I locked the door and went to the window and watched his car go. I set my things down on my couch and plopped myself next to it. "FINALLY" I shouted out in relief because it was finally our yearly break.

I spent the whole night binge-watching Kdramas until it was 4 AM.
