chapter 7

the carriage came to a stop, and the man opened the door for me and gave me his hand to help me down which i took. my jaw dropped at the town, it was beautiful and was full of life. people that were walking past were already smiling at me 'this is going to be nice' i thought to myself as i grabbed my stuff and walked through the front door.

there was a small kitchen and living room and then a huge bedroom which is nice and the garden, it's the best. it's is a small patch of grass surrounded by wood, it even has a rose bush which made me laugh because i knew papa planned that.

as i was exploring i heard twig in the woods and backed away and grabbed a shovel. a little girl jumped out of the woods which made me shriek and her not noticing me also made her shriek. "oh i'm sorry sorry miss?" "rose my names rose, and i should be saying sorry" i smiled at the girl.

i noticed her caramel brown eyes and her dirty blonde hair, o also noticed how she kept looking behind her like she's looking for someone "are you okay dear?" i asked her "yeah i'm okay i'm just waiting for my dad" i nodded my head and smiled "what's your name dear" "grace" she says looking down "that's a pretty name grace.. where is your father" i asked politely "in the woods" i nodded my head "grace grace" i heard someone call from the woods "is that your father?" she nods her head and grins at me "i'm over here papa" she said as a tall man with shoulder length brown hair and his dark blue eyes emerged through the thick woods. my heart quickened as my breath slowed 'holy moly' i thought to myself "papa this is rose, she lives next door" she smiled at me as if she knew i would react like this "hello rose im jefferson" he stuck out his for he to shake which i gladly excepted. his big strong hands covered mine as i shook his hand "hello... i just moved in next door" i said pointing to my house and he nodded "papa can she join us for dinner" grace asked "no it's okay don't worry" i laughed nervously "no please come i insist" he said smiling 'stop smiling at me like that or i'll melt into the ground' "if you insist" i chuckled "great we will let you get unpacked and just come over before dark" he instructed as i nodded my head and tucked a piece of my long golden hair behind my ear.

i finished unpacking and changed into my blue dress and walked over grace and jefferson's house.
i knocked on the door and grace opened "wow rose you look so pretty like a princess... don't you think so too papa" this little devil, she knows what she's doing "i- uh.. wow rose you sure do look like a royal" jefferson said flustered and i just smiled "thank you your both to sweet" i smiled as i walked in "wow smells nice" i said as i looked around and saw lots of hard 'must be a hat maker' i thought to myself "i make hats"
'yep i was right' jefferson told me "your talented" i smiled "thank you"

i sat down at the table across from jefferson and beside grace. for dinner they made stew, which was a staple in my house before father became the dark one and we started having more extravagant meals. jefferson must've noticed me smiling at my food "i never realised food could be humorous" i looked up at him "oh no sorry this just reminds me of my childhood and my papa" i smiled sadly "oh i'm sorry i didn't know.. did he?" "pass? no he didn't his alive i just moved out of his house today i guess i miss him that's all" i laugh "oh.. and how old are you" i mentally cursed 'this is it now' i thought "i'm nearly 17 my birthday is next month" i saw his eyes narrow a small bit "your very young to be living by yourself" "i know but my papa and i decided it would be best for me to be living by myself" i ate some of my food not wanting to talk about this anymore "ah very well" he said as we all continued eating in silence.

"that was really nice thank you jefferson and grace" i said as i finished my food "no problem rose" grace smiled at me "i better get going.. thanks so much for having me over" i smiled sweetly "no problem is was our pleasure" jefferson said as he walked me to the door "grace i'm going to walk rose home, stay here alright" "alright" grace said with a grin.

i walked to my house with jefferson traveling not to far behind me "thank you for dinner" i smiled at him "it's ok, we don't mind having a extra guest and dinner" he smiled and i looked down and twirled my hair slightly "i better get going inside" "yes very well.. goodnight" he said as turned away "goodnight" i replied and walked inside smiling 'ok girl don't fall in love you barely know the man' 'but oh he's so dreamy' i had a mental battle with myself but decided i could stay back a bit... i'm not ready for a relationship.

i sat on my bed and brushed my long blonde hair when i saw jefferson reading grace a story in bed. i smiled at myself seeing the cute picture in front of me. i got up and tucked into my bed and in the first time in ages i fell asleep peacefully

||*. oop little twist there hope y'all like it, i can't believe it 3 chapters in 1 day! i'm glad i got these up because i won't be able to write as much now i'm going back to school but i hope you enjoy this chapter
