1891 June 23
He grasped my hands firmly in his, his bruised fingers searching for comfort. His eyes were watery with unshed tears and his thick dark lashes flickered when he blinked.
"Please, Taslyn, I don't understand why you turned me in. I-I thought we promised each other." A tear falling down my freckled cheek as he reaches his hands towards my face.
I couldn't bear to look into his dark eyes any longer. I knew what I had to do, even though it tore me apart inside. With a deep breath, I pulled back from his grip and took a step back.
"I had no choice, Sebastian," I whispered, my voice cracking with emotion. "You know what you did was wrong. You were hurting people, and I couldn't stand by and watch."
His face twists with anger, "I taught you the unforgivable spells, don't act as if you are so innocent in all of this. You think you're so high and mighty don't you?" He spat. "Always acting as if you have been playing by the rules as soon as you think you are going to get caught."
I shook my head, my long hair falling into my face. "That's not an excuse Sebastian. There's always a choice. And you made the wrong one."
For a moment, there was silence between us. Then Sebastian let out a mocking laugh, his eyes now glazed with fury. "You're such a hypocrite, Taslyn." he sneered, taking a step towards me. "You act so righteous, yet you were the one who eagerly learned those spells. You practically begged me to teach you."
I flinched at his words, but stood my ground. "I know what I did was wrong," I said, my voice barely above a whisper at this point.
"But I stopped, Sebastian. You didn't."
Sebastian's face contorted in rage as he took another step towards me. "You turned on me," He growled, grabbing my shoulders and shaking me roughly. "You betrayed me Taslyn. And for what? To prove your loyalty to the Ministry of Magic? To save your own skin?"
I tried to push him away, but his grip was too strong. "Let go of me, Sebastian," I hissed, my fear turning into anger.
Sebastian tightened his grip, his fingers digging into my skin. "No," he spat. "I'm not letting you go until you tell me the truth. Why did you really turn me in?"
I stared at him, my heart racing in my chest. The truth was something I had been avoiding for a long time, but I knew I couldn't keep it hidden any longer. "I turned you in because I realized that what we were doing was wrong," I said, my voice trembling. "I couldn't continue to be a part of something that was hurting innocent people. I couldn't continue to be a part of something that would ultimately destroy us all."
Sebastian's eyes narrowed, his lips curling into a snarl. "You're lying," he said, his grip on my shoulders tightening even more. "You're lying to me, Taslyn. I know you are."
"I'm not," I said, my voice shaking with fear. "Please, Sebastian, let me go."
Sebastian's grip loosened slightly, but he didn't release me. "I thought we had something special," he said, his voice softening slightly. "I thought we were in this together, Taslyn." His fingers trailed over my skin gently, his touch now light and almost tender.
"Don't you remember the nights we spent practicing spells together? The way our bodies would move in unison?"
I felt a shiver run down my spine at his touch, but I quickly pushed it away. "That doesn't excuse what we did," I said firmly.
"We were hurting people, Sebastian. Innocent people who didn't deserve it."
Sebastian's eyes flashed with anger once again, his grip on my shoulders tightening once more. "You're a traitor, Taslyn," he spat. "You'll regret this. I promise you, you will regret this."
I could feel fear rising back inside of me, but I refused to let it show. "I'm not a traitor," I said, my voice strong and steady. "I did what was right, even if it hurt."
Sebastian's grip finally loosened, and he stepped back, his eyes burning with fury. "We'll see about that," he said, his voice low and dangerous. "I won't forget what you've done, Taslyn. These next two years while I am in Azkaban will be your last two years of peace. Enjoy them while they last."
With that, he turned and stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind him. I was left alone, my heart pounding in my chest. I knew that my life would never be the same again, but I also knew that I had done the right thing.
And that was all that mattered.

Hello Everyone! Just a few notes before we get started. I would strongly recommend you either play or watch gameplay of Hogwarts Legacy to fully understand this story. I will try my best to fill in the gaps. But, for a deeper understanding I would definitely recommend it.
Also, I am not affiliated or associated or whatever it is with Hogwarts Legacy or the Wizarding World.
Since this story will have mature content, all characters will be aged up. So all 5th year students introduced in Hogwarts Legacy will be aged up to 18 and since this book is written 2 years after, all 7th years will be around 20. Yee hAw
Also, It is wild to think that the last time I wrote a fanfiction was back when I was 15? I think? aha wild.
Also, just consider this page as your trigger warning. I will most likely add them in as I go, but this will contain mature themes such as nudity, violence, description of blood and gore, sexual themes, strong language and sensitive themes.
I also tend to make edits after publishing since I often write in another app and then transfer it over so I apologize if it is a bit rough.
So please keep that in mind when you are reading.
Thank you and Enjoy!
