Enchanting Grom Fright

At school, there is some bit of a hassle decorating the school in time for Grom night. For those who are familiar with this, it's like prom except for one detail... that isn't really important. Yn was walking next to Luz, Willow and Gus. "Something's different today." Luz mentions not noticing all the yellow decorations. "Did everyone get a haircut?" 

"Oh, yeah, I forgot you've never been here for the social event of the season." Willow remembers.

"Welcome to your first–" Gus was cut off by some 'doctors' imitating an ambulance siren. A boy was sick and the only cure was to go out to Grom with some girl. Luz turns to her friends looking very happy, "You guys have a weird version of prom in the Boiling Isles? I was kicked out of my last school dance for dressing like an otter, but maybe here, I could be your Grom Queen." Luz suggests.

"That's, uh, not something people usually sign up for." Yn hesitated, looking at Gus and Willow. However, someone crashes into Luz, getting her out of some human pose, "Ugh!" It was Amity and her books, plus a pink folded piece of paper fell on the floor along with herself and Luz. "Watch it, nitwit." She snaps before seeing who it is. "Oh. Hi, Luz and Co. Sorry about that." She apologises, picking up her books and getting up. "No problem. Let me help you. Here, your note." Luz helps with a smile, giving Amity her books and gets up holding out the pink paper. Amity's eyes widen before she quickly snatches the paper. "Man, you got some quick grabbers." Luz uses her hands to exaggerate her point. "It just... It's private." she says.

Just then the microphone is turned on. It was PB. "Attention Hexside students, this is your principal speaking... This year, I have the privilege to bestow our highest Grom honour to Amity Blight. Our Grom Queen."  They all gasp looking at the green-haired girl. Luz though starts to cheer for her making her blush and run off. "Bad move." Yn coughs before walking away towards his favourite lesson, the library.

-Time Skip-

At the dance people were wearing dresses and suits, some dancing to the music being played, some talking. Yn was wearing an all-black suit with a hood. He looks very out of place not liking the big crowds, only here to support Luz. Eda was also there chaperoning. She was in a brown suit with a red shirt and a yellow bowtie. She was leaning on some red flowers that formed an arch. She was talking to King. Yn looks around, getting overwhelmed by the loud noise of music and teenagers talking and the flashing lights don't help. He goes to sit on the stands, focusing on his breathing and not noticing Eda take a seat next to him. "Hey, Yn." she spoke softly, looking down at him. He briefly makes eye contact before looking away, some red paints his cheeks. "Eda." he greets. She didn't talk, just kept him company.

The lights cut out and Gus' voice comes over the microphone. "Ladies, gentlemen, and assorted demons, it's almost time for our main Grom event. Please please take a seat. And beware that the first three rows are designated splash zones." Thank Titan that Yn and Eda were sitting on the second to last row. King had walked up to the duo. "Wow, Gus is really good at this. They're hanging on his every word." Gus was messing about on stage before asking Bump to join him. "I hope my material's up to snuff. Whoa!" King falls onto the seat next to Eda pulling out a whoopee cushion and drops a lot of his premade jokes. "What do you think will go better with the youth? Close-up magic or impressions? What do ya say, Yn?" King leans forwards looking at Yn, who answers without even looking at the King of Demons. "Oh, King... Teenagers are brutal. They'll boo anyone, and that kind of public humiliation can stick with you for life." King screams, looking more nervous. "I'm gonna go on a walk. Tell me if Luz dies or not."

Luz was now in the woods running from the demon of her mother Luz's clothes were... strange with her hair gelled back and wearing half a vampire costume that has a tail on the suit jacket, a pink too-too and some purple leggings and black shoes. She was shouting things but ran faster than ever. Until she runs out of ground to run on as she's at the edge of a cliff, she almost doesn't stop in time making her fall to her knees. "Why can't you face me, Luz?" The demon is a black sludge with multiple eyes and Luz's mother on top. "Why can't you face your own mother?"

"You're not really my mom."

"How could you say that, cariño? You're breaking my heart!" Luckily Eda comes in on Owlbert sending a fire spell to the creature. "Spicy toss!" She lands at the entrance of the forest. "Hands off my human, you misshapen excuse for a monster." The monster, as Eda calls it, angrily moves its tail. "Eda, you were right. I'm not ready." Luz emits. "That's okay, I got this one." Eda starts to draw a circle but Amity Blight jumps out of the forest and runs in front of Luz with her arms spread out. "Stay away from her." The only response she got was growling and the trail moves as quick as light and wraps around Amity lifting her up.

"I'm sorry, Luz. I should've fought my own battle." The monster's eyes glow blue, the same as Amity, and reform into her fear. Her nightmare. A shadow child that looks like someone female. The monster now reaches into Amity's pocket removing the pink piece of paper and ripping it and crunching it up, before it moves away. Amity picks up one of the pieces holding it to her chest looking like she's about to cry. Luz grabs the one still on the floor opening it up seeing 'Will you go to Grom with me? Amity' Luz gasps seeing it, "You were afraid of getting rejected." Only if Luz knew. "Amity, it's okay. What if I went to Grom with you instead?" Amity puts the other piece back into her pocket and takes Luz's offered hand. "Really?" She smiles back at the human. "That's what friends do." They both hear growling behind them seeing the demon is back and shapeshifts into a big body with a bigger head, its black goo adding to the fear it tries to spread.

"Well then, if that's settled may I have this dance?" Amity holds her hand out for Luz, which she takes. The two are chest to chest, looking into each other's eyes before dancing. Amity while doing a spin draws a circle on the ground, summoning an abomination, they both end up on its head and Luz puts a plant glyph on its head. It launches itself at the monster while the two dancers jump off. The monster eats the abomination and plants start to grow out of it until it explodes, ending the dance. The explosion leaves a big tree with pink leaves in its place and two crowns form on Luz's and Amity's heads.

People start to cheer for her and King makes some jokes but behind the Queens, the monster reforms, setting a shadow down on the group of people. "What!? How are you still alive!" Luz questions seeing it form a wolf-like being, but before it can attack something from the forest jumps out and over the group tackling the demon to the ground. It was a bigger wolf. Its fur was jet black but its head was white, except the jaw and also its eyes were black with a yellow iris. Bump gasps stepping in front of the children. "Night Walker." he says, his face showing his fear. However, the Night Walker shows no interest in him or anyone but the creature which easily was easy to beat though biting it. Until the monster was strong enough to stop the N.Walker from pushing it over the cliff's edge.

The wolf shakes its fur off looking up at the group as Bump slowly draws a circle but Eda stops him. "Leave it be. It won't hurt us." She pushes his arm down. The group slowly walks back to the school to celebrate the victory of Luz and Amity. Eda makes eye contact with the wolf smiling before bowing slightly. The wolf tilts its head before bowing back watching the witch walk off.

In a poof, of purple smoke, the wolf turns into... Yn. He stretches before pulling his hood back up, hiding his snow-white hair and wolf ears, a chip was in his right ear and on his left a dangly earpiece that is mostly black with some grey at the bottom. He walks towards the forgotten pink pieces of paper seeing the smaller piece is a name, in Amity's writing, he smiles softly seeing it, picking the two pieces up before walking back to the school, whistling a simple tone.
