"Oh, my god." Adeline whimpered, covering her mouth. Owen was going to die. Definitely. No, she should have more faith in him. These animals had imprinted on him, he had full control over the situation. Barry ran in, dragging the pig keeper out.

ACU appeared on the catwalks with tranquilizer guns, but Owen held his hand up. "Woah, woah, hold your fire! Do not fire, hold your fire. Put 12 amps in these animals, they're never gonna trust me again."

The raptors advanced on him, slowly stepping forward. "Blue. Stand down. Stand down." She roared, snapping at him. "Hey! What did I just say?"

Adeline hated the look on Hoskins' face. He was glad. Owen was in there, inches away from death, and Hoskins was grinning.

"Delta, I see you. Back up."

He was handling it very well, despite the stakes. The raptors were still responding to him, even without the clicker and the dead rats.

"Okay, good. Good. Stay right there." The raptors backed off just enough. "Close the gate."

"Are you crazy?" Barry and Adeline yelled in unison.

"Just, trust me." Owen said calmly.

Barry pressed the button, shaking his head. Owen waited for a few seconds, staring the raptors down, before bolting backwards and rolling under the nearly shut gate. The raptors chased after him, but their jaws snapped only on the metal bars of the gate. Barry helped Owen stand, shaking his head at him.

Adeline waited for Owen to step out of the holding room before tackling him into a hug. "Oh, my God, you could've died. You're so stupid, Grady." She buried her head into his neck.

"I know," He rubbed her back. "I'm okay, see? Everyone is okay." She nodded, trying to hold back her last few sobs. She didn't want to let go, not after the day she'd had. And Owen smelled really good.

She wiped her eyes with the back of her hand as she pulled out of the hug.

"You should take the rest of the day off." Owen held her shoulders, looking her over.

"I should? Who's the one that just jumped into an enclosure full of dinosaurs?" She scoffed. "And as if that new InGen herbivore hire would even let me. Simon told me that this Dean guy was my subordinate, but I'm being undermined in everything I do."

"Head over to the Territory, hang out with the ladies and relax, I'll see you later, got it?"

Adeline nodded, walking over to her car. She drove around the Valleys for a while, before heading to the Triceratops Territory to sit on top of the shed. She looked out at the animals. She took the time to pretend that her job wasn't being threatened, that everything was normal and fine, and that she wasn't currently sexually attracted to her best friend.

She hopped down off the roof after a healthy hour of affirmation and mental freaking out. It was pushing five when Owen showed up. "I was hoping you'd still be here, you up for dinner?"

He held up a lunchbox. "Did you make me dinner?" She opened it. He nodded, glancing to the side.

"You seemed pretty upset today, so I figured we could drive somewhere and eat dinner. And we can take the bike."

She grinned, then hugged him tightly. "You're the absolute best, you know that, Owen Grady?"

"So I've been told."

She took her car back to the apartment first, then got onto Owen's motorcycle. They drove to the edge of one of the Valleys, sitting against a tree and eating their dinner. It was past 8 when Adeline pointed out that they were technically on park grounds after close ("We live on park grounds, Addie, we're always on park grounds") and they headed back to her apartment.
