Chapter 6: New Members

The Courier's POV:

While I was limping to the colony's exit to head back to my base, I hear a familiar voice behind me. I look to see who it is and it's the female agent I saved from earlier. She runs towards me with concern and arrives behind me and says, " I see that you were limping and have a bandage wrapped around stomach, and I want to help you" Six then sits down by the wall and leans his back on it. You can help by getting the guard at the front entrance for for me please. She goes to get the guard and he arrives with a fearful expression on his face. "Oh my goodness Six are you ok?" Well my left leg is twisted and my abdomen was cut showing my intestines, but I had worse done to me. "What can we do to help you Six?" Six checks his Pip-boy and sees that his health is at half, his armor went from full condition to at 85% condition and his right leg is crippled. I will be fine guys but I need you with me he points at the agent. "Why do you need me to help you?", she says to Six with a concerned expression. I saved your life from that thing back there, plus I might pass out on the way back to my home. "How far is your home?" It's about a 3 and a half hour jog from here. The worker drones both look at each other and then back to Six. "What about me Six", saids the guard. You can tend to your duties and open the door for me sir. The guard runs back to the entrance to get ready to open it for Six waiting patiently. Six gets up and limps towards the entrance with the agent right of him. Wait before you open the door,I would like to ask for your name. My name is Ron if you want to know Six. Ok Ron I would like to give you something, he grabs a 9mm handgun with two mags,a paper, and a flare gun out of his inventory and gives them to Ron. "What are these for Six?" The paper is directions for you to contact me and the handgun is to defend yourself. "Actually Six I think I will come with you as well." Ok if you want to,but do you have a job to do Ron? Ron shrugs and smiles "My shift is about over in about 5 minutes anyways" Ron opens the door for Six, Ron and the agent to exit. The door shuts behind them slowly after they exit. "So I am assuming that we are heading to your place", says Ron to Six. Yes for you guys to join me. "What about our stuff?" I will answer your questions once I get to my home. They then follow Six to his home.

After about 4 and a half hours of walking later the group arrive at the bunker. Six opens the door but falls down the stairs aggressively and startles James guarding the hallway. "Alright goes there",James said to the group upstairs pointing his 10mm pistol with firm grip. "It's ok we are with Six", says Ron and the agent. "Ok one wrong move and I will pop your head off!" The agent comes down the stairs first first and sees James and she is shocked at his presence. "James is that, really you?" James calmly lowers his hand gun with a with a amazed expression, and says " Yes it is me Sarah." Sarah runs to James and hugs him tightly, James hugs her back. "The whole colony though that you died out there." She started crying with happiness knowing that James was still alive. Ron comes down the stairs and sees James and is surprised to see him, but more in a guilt filled way. James looks at Ron with a deeply angered look a points his handgun at him. "You have allot nerve to show up here." I then gets up by using the stair railing as support and I feel a sharp pain come from my crippled leg, causing me to grunt in discomfort. The arguing stopped because James saw that I was in pain and walked to go check on me. "You don't look so good Six. What happened to you." James I will talk about my wounds later, everybody meet me in the living room so we can talk. Ron went to support Six with walking while the other two went to the living room waiting for The Courier. The Courier sits in the middle of the couch with Ron on the right. Sarah grabbed a chair placed it right next to James and looked around the living room. "So Six this is a pretty nice place you have here." After she was done inspecting the living room The Courier spoke to Sarah.

Sarah I am going to ask you a few questions, is that ok with you. "You saved my life I will gladly answer your questions. So Sarah I am assuming you know about James, because you hugged him and cried, am I right? Sarah takes off her glasses and puts them in her Jacket, "Yes me and James have known each other since we have been on the worker drones defense force for five years." Ok Sarah, what happened before you were almost killed by that creature back in the colony? "What I remember is my team went to investigate why the worker drones went missing. They team was gone for about 3 hours and never returned, so I went to check what they were upto. And then you showed up saved me, and took out that creature." Six nods at Sarah in approval and looks at James starring aggressively at Ron. So James it seems that you and Ron have bad blood between you guys, why is that? James stops starring at Ron and talks to Six with a upset tone in his voice. "Yes Six I don't like Ron, why because he left me for dead went I was attacked by the murder drones." Six looks at Ron with disappointment and says, is what James saying true Ron? Ron sighs with guilt and places down his hardhat on the coffee table. "Yes what I did to Jameson was true." Sarah was filled with disgust towards Ron,"Why I did you do it", she says with anger in her voice. 'I sorry Sarah, it was either him or the colony." James tone turns from upset to understanding very quickly. "I understand why you left me for dead, and I respect that. But I will forgive you on one condition." Ron looks speechless at James response and doesn't know. what to say. "Just say sorry, Ron." Ron puts his hardhat on and says sorry to James and they shake hands. "You know Jameson you all ways was the hardest worker in the colony." "And you always looked out for the colony to make sure everyone survived." They start laughing for a brief moment until James stoped laughing. Well that's was unexpected behavior for someone that left you for dead Jameson "So Six what about your wounds", said James with concern. I will be fine James, I just need to rest for most of the day. "I am surprised you survived, a normal human would just died from there wounds." Sarah said to Six with a amazed look. "Speaking of which, Six why aren't you dead yet", James said to Six. Because I am more than just a man, Jameson. Why is that? Six then grows silent not wanting to answer the question. I rather not talk about it James.

Everybody then ask Six one question. "What about the colony?" I feel like you guys should stay here, because of those disassembly drones that are walking around with Uzi. "What, you mean Khan's daughter?" Yes James Uzi befriended a male disassembly drone named N, and I don't have a good feeling that your guys home is not safe anymore with a bunch of war machines walking around. Ron,James, and Sarah are quite concerned about this and agree with Six's idea. "You are right Six, ever since that genocidal sky demon was with Uzi I haven't felt safe at home." I like that you agree with me on my idea Ron, now before I go to sleep I need two things for you guys to do. "We are listening Six." Good, I want you guys to write on a piece of paper what you need for you homes plus I am going to assign you guys jobs here at the bunker. James you teach Sarah what I told you about operating a 10mm handgun, she is going to be security. James you will be the repair man and work on anything that is broken around here when I go on scouting missions. And lastly, James sure you fix the ham radio on the coffee table in front of us because Ron is going to use it to contact other radio broadcasts if there is any left on this frozen hellhole. Do I make my self clear everyone. They nod their heads in agreement. Alright I am going to get a days worth of rest. He takes off his oxygen tank and sits it beside the couch and lays down. The worker drones tend to their duties while Six sleeps on the couch for him to get rest and for his wounds to heal.
