The next two days were filled with patrols, projects, protocols, and an unfortunate introduction to paperwork. Who knew being a pro hero meant filing so many reports?

And then Power Loader switched up their schedule a bit. Letting him know that the only available patrol slot for that day was the 4-8 pm time. Not that it really mattered much to the teen. His sleep schedule was just as erratic as it always was so as long as he napped at some point that day he knew he would be fine. That morning he was assigned to sit at the front desk with Kagami and work through some complicated calculations needed for the mechanical department.

Apparently they needed to figure out what would theoretically be the best material to build the new engine from before they started in on the project the engineers had designed. This was the last step before a prototype could be built, and Izuku was fascinated by the math of figuring out which alloys were most likely to fail under the theoretical stress the machine would be putting them under.

While they worked they chatted. The dark haired man, as amicable and friendly as ever, freely explained his quirk. Apparently his father had named it Mirror of Erised when it developed. And wasn't the engineer shocked that the young teen caught the reference to the pre quirk series, nerding out for a minute before focusing in on what the quirk could do.

If Kagami focused and had some sort of skin contact with a person he could see whatever that person desired most at that moment. So, in an effort to make everyone's job easier he often used it with clients who were coming in for support items but were unsure of how to request what they needed. The apprentice would ask a series of questions to focus their mind on exactly what they were trying to request and then use his quirk to get some insight.

To say Izuku geeked out over how useful said quirk was would be an understatement. He got distracted from what he should have been working on and instead ended up with four whole pages of notes in his personal notebook with his mad rambling scrawled haphazardly across. Eventually his new friend got him back on track, just to have to temporarily leave the teen at the desk as he escorted a visitor up to check in with the PR team.

The teen hummed quietly to himself as he settled in to work through theoreticals involving the pros and cons of jet fuel. He was halfway through figuring out the amount of A needed to melt B when there was a knock on the desk in front of him. The green haired boy jumped with a quiet yelp and looked up into the disapproving eyes of a severe looking woman in a suit. "ExCuse Me. Can you point me to Maijima's office or Not?"

"Oh! Uh! Can I get a n-name please?"

"Why would you need My Name?" The venom in her voice made him want to shrink away, but he knew he needed to hold firm, the public were not allowed into any part of the agency without some sort of appointment. "I need to ch-check your a-appointment m-ma'am…"

She huffed in irritation. "I have an appointment with Maijima at noon. If you make me late I swear…!" She let the threat hang for a minute and Izuku shifted in discomfort. Dutifully he pulled up his teacher's schedule for the day. His noon slot was filled with the name Mr. Johnson. He frowned and looked back at the person in front of him. He didn't want to incorrectly assume someone's gender, but this particular person didn't look like they would prefer the masculine pronouns. Maybe it was a typo?

"Uh-uhm… what did you say your name was ag-again?" He wondered if her bun was giving her a headache with how tight it was. "Ugh! Fine! Monica! Monica Takashi! Now, are you going to tell me where to go or not?!"
