Green eyes flickered open slowly, long pauses passed between blinks as Izuku slowly readjusted to being awake. After a few minutes he became aware of the low hum of conversation. He rolled his head in that direction, uncomfortable with people being in the room when he wasn't sure who it was.

It took a second to focus but when he did he saw that the speakers were Todoroki and Iida. Who were each sitting in their own beds across the room from each other. His fuzzy brain stalled for a second, stuck on the fact that there were at least three beds in the room he was in, which was weird right? He must have made some sort of noise because the other two boys quickly turned to face him.

"Midoriya!" Iida exclaimed loudly, though he did seem to be contrite when the boy in question winced at the noise. "Sorry. Good to see you awake Midoriya. Here, I will call the nurses to let them know." He fumbled around for a button on a lead connected to the wall. Oh. Nurses. Hospital. That made sense.

Green eyes drifted over to Todoroki, Izuku trying to remember why they were all in the hospital together. Then his gaze caught that of the elemental boy's, his brain decided to give him a flash of memories. Blood, darkness, fire, Stain. He gasped and sat up quickly. Too quickly. His world swam nauseatingly.

The next thing he was fully aware of was the coolness of Todoroki's right side pressing up against him. Apparently he had listed to the side and the other boy had rushed to keep him from falling out of bed. The greenette looked up into grey and blue eyes in fearful desperation. "St-stain?"

"He's in custody. Please lay back down. The nurses might actually attack us if you pulled any of your stitches." The smallest teen puzzled over the stitches comment even as he let himself be guided back down. It took him longer than he would have liked to remember why sitting up would have risked pulling stitches. His brain felt fuzzy and slow. Like a koala crawling through molasses. Probably due to some sort of pain killers. Eventually though he did remember.

"Oh. Th-the nomu." Claws and sharp stabbing pain in his belly even as he was distracted by the whiplash sensation of suddenly being lifted into the air. His blood splattering on the pavement below. The agony as those talons yanked free of his skin. "Yes. He did quite a number on you. You were out for a few hours."

Iziku smiled weakly. "The most s-sleep I've gotten a-a-all week then." Todoroki looked at him in concern at the joke. Not really what he was going for so he tried to calm to other boy by reassuring him that he was kidding

Izuku convinced the other boy to take himself and his IV back to his own bed to rest. If it had only been a few hours then it must be early morning at most and he was sure the other two boys must be exhausted. Iida hummed to himself and reached over with his good arm to press the call button again.

This time a voice came over the intercom it was connected to and the blue haired teen had a short conversation explaining that Izuku was awake, getting curt acknowledgement in return and a promise to come in to check on them as soon as they could. Something in the nurse's tone caught the greenette's attention, like sandpaper catching against gauze it rubbed his intuition the wrong way.

He let his eyes roam the room idly. Letting the other two resume their conversation on the news coverage they were checking on their phones. After a few minutes he noticed and puzzled over his own lack of an IV since he apparently lost a good amount of blood. At the least they should have been giving him basic fluids. His ears ached a bit from sleeping with his hearing aids in. But that was easy enough to ignore with the more pressing matters to take up most of his attention.
