It was after the sea beast he loved was slain by the other captain and his crew, and Captain Mugbeard tried his hardest to move on. "Captain, you've been sad all week," Pirate Cuphead said, "What's going on?" "You won't believe me if I tell you," Captain Mugbeard replied. "Come on, how bad can it be?" Pirate Cuphead asked. "It's bad enough that you won't understand," Captain Mugbeard said. Pirate Elder Kettle suspected that he was hiding something so he said to him gently, "I think it's about time to let it out. You can't keep this a secret forever you know. The longer you keep it, the worse you'll feel." "Very well, I was secretly in love with the dreaded sea beast and before she was slain, I was sneaking off the ship to meet with her," Captain Mugbeard told them with some sadness in his voice. "You're in love with the sea beast?!" Pirates Cuphead, Chalice and Elder Kettle exclaimed. "Yes, even though it pains me to admit it, I loved her. Her beautiful smile, her jade eyes and her beautiful singing voice," he told them. "I think I have a solution to that problem," said Pirate Chalice. "You do Chalice?" Captain Mugbeard asked her. "I sure do," she said, "There's a place called Isle of the Sirens, where a lot of beautiful mermaids live." "The Isle of the Sirens? Where is it located?" Captain Mugbeard asked her. "It's right in the middle of the Atlantis Keys," Pirate Chalice said. "How do we get there?" he asked her. "Well, follow the North Star and it'll take us there," Pirate Chalice replied. "Understood. Crew! Set a course for the Atlantis Keys and the Isle of the Sirens!" Captain Mugbeard told the crew as he grabbed ahold of the steering wheel of the ship. "Aye aye Captain Mugbeard!" his crew said. Captain Mugbeard then turned the steering wheel of the ship so it was pointing towards the North Star with him feeling the wind blowing against his back. "Chalice, are there any dangers we should be aware of while sailing to the Atlantis Keys?" he asked Pirate Chalice. "I forgot to tell you that there can be heavy winds and we could be pushed back from the North Star," said Pirate Chalice, "However if we come up with a plan to help us push through the winds, we'll be able to make it." "Good to know Chalice." he told her before looking at Pirate Elder Kettle. "Do we have anything to block the strong winds coming towards us from the direction of the North Star?" he asks him. "No we don't, Captain," Pirate Elder Kettle said, "Looks like we'll have to come up with one." Captain Mugbeard scratched his head before pulling out a map of the various islands in the ocean and he spotted one particular island that looked like an anchor. "Crew! I might have an idea on how we can block the winds!" he said his crew while motioning them to come look at the map with him. "How?" asked the crew. "See this anchor-shaped island over here?" he asked them while pointing to the island on the map. "Yeah, what about it?" Pirate Cuphead asked. "I've heard rumors that there's a strong enough material made to counter strong winds and if we head there, we can use the material to strengthen our ship and prevent us from getting blown back," Captain Mugbeard told him. "What material do you have in mind?" asked Pirate Chalice. "The material on the island is a strong type of wood known as ironsteel wood," he told Pirate Chalice. "Ironsteel wood?" asked the crew. "Yes, it's one of the toughest types of wood and with the right materials, we can attach it to our ship and block the strong winds coming toward us as we travel to the Isle of the Sirens." he told them. "Okay," the crew said. "However, there is a small catch once we reach the anchor-shaped island my fearless crew," Captain Mugbeard said in a stern tone. "What is it?" the crew asked. "Only two people are allowed on the shores so that means only two us will have to go out and get the ironsteel wood," he said to them. "Well which two of us is gonna do it?" asked Pirate Chalice. "I'll go out there since I might have to do some reasoning with any natives that could be on the island and I'll bring Pirate Cuphead with me in case we get into a fight so I can rely on his strength." Captain Mugbeard told her. "Okay, good luck," said Pirate Chalice. Captain Mugbeard docked the ship along the shores of the anchor-shaped island with him and Pirate Cuphead climbing off of it and landing on the soft sand before walking into the jungle with Pirate Chalice and Elder Kettle watching them before they vanished from sight.
