Chapter 23: Hogsmeade

I sat down with Lily in one of the carts. We were finally on our way to Hogwarts. I was happy to get away from my so-called father but I was nervous to leave my mum alone with him. I knew what I had to do though. I had to get away and live my life. It was no life for an eleven year much less a nine-year-old. I looked at Lily and smiled.

"James we should sit in here," I turned to see another young boy with a mark across his face said. Another boy walked in behind him. This boy had dark brown hair and wore glasses. I assumed his name was James.

"Hi, I am James and this is Remus," James smiled at Lily, and that made my blood boil.

"Hi, James, Remus," Lily smiled, "this is my best friend, Severus Snape," she gestured to Severus.

"More like Snivellus," another boy from behind blurted out, "look at that nose," he laughed.

"It's Sever,"  I was cut off by James.

"So, Lily, this is your first year?" James asked.

She nodded, "Yes, and yours?"

"First year," James said.

"Maybe you will get sorted into Gryffindor with us," he said while gesturing to his friends behind him, "I will probably get Gryffindor but I am fine with any other house besides Slytherin."

"There is nothing wrong with Slytherin," I interjected.

James snorted and was about to say something before another boy with a rat face walked in. "Ah, Peter," James said, "you two don't mind if we sit next to you?"

Lily shook her head, no, but I sat in silence. This isn't what I wanted. These four boys are not people I wanted to be friends with.

"I am James Potter," he said as he scooted closer to Lily, "this tall bloke is Remus Lupin, the shaggy-haired boy is Sirius Black, and that bloke over there is Peter Pettigrew," James turned to Lily, "This is Lily Evans," he rolled his tongue slightly and pointed to me, "and next to her is Snivellus Snape," James chuckled.

"It's Severus," I barked.

"And he wants to be in Slytherin," James said, "poor bloke."

"My family has been in Slytherin, and they are so much better than Gryffindor," I snarled.

What can I say I'm thrilled to meet these four awful boys and have them ogle over Lily.

"Are we going to talk about it on our way to Hogsmeade?" Severus asked as we stepped out of Hogwarts and onto the grass.

"I don't want to talk about it right now Severus," I said, "I just want to enjoy walking to Hogsmeade with my boyfriend," I turned to see Severus put his head down. His cheeks were blushing a bright red. "I like seeing you blush," I said as I grabbed his hand and entwined my fingers in his. He squeezed my hand, "I don't blush."

"Oh okay," I said sarcastically.

"When you did the boggart in class that one day when Sirius came out as my boggart," I paused.

"Yes?" He asked.

"That wasn't the boggart I was thinking it would be," I said.

"What do you mean? You have more than one boggart?"

I nodded, "Yes."

"What is your other boggart?" He asked.

I gulped, "A dementor."
