The pressure that built up in my hand was gone. My skin turned back to its regular color. The tool box had a large perfectly cut hole in it still red hot from the blast. I looked over at Aaron he kept looking at the box, then looking at me, then back at the box with his hands on his head.

"That was my dads favorite tool box"

I half expected him to immediately start asking questions. Instead we just went back to his car and he loaded another bowl. He offered it to me. "Nah I'm good" I assumed it was the reason my powers randomly fluctuated. "Soooooo what was that all about?" He asked. I guess there was no more hiding it, I was kind of relieved.

"Well, it's a long story. The short version would be that two days ago my powers manifested and I ended up murdering three people. Apparently my parents found me there; by the way they also have powers. My mom healed me and told me. Oh and I come from a whole family of super humans." Ok it was the long-short version.

Aaron was just staring at me, expressionless. He hits the pipe again. "Damn, that's tight as fuck."
"I know right! Except for me destroying your dads tool box." Aaron reacted sort of the way I expected him to react. Nothing ever really surprised him. He didn't even raise his eyebrows when I told him I killed three people."So what's your power, shooting blue stuff?" He asked. "My dad said I was a neon. I'm not sure what that means yet, but yea apparently I can shoot blue stuff." I hadn't really had time to think about what my abilities were. Even though my life was turned around in a day, I've been acting like it never happened. I guess it hasn't dawned on me yet that my life will never be the same.

"Did you still want to go to Taco Bell?" Aaron said changing the subject.
"Is that a real question? Of course I do I'm starving." I hadn't eaten since breakfast. I looked at the clock on the stereo display when he started it up. It was already lunch time in school. He backed out of his garage. And I took one last look at the toolbox and remembered my brother asking me to go with him to figure out my abilities when I got home from school. I couldn't wait.

After getting some Taco Bell, Aaron and I went back to school for our last period which we had together. The last class I had was algebra. When we entered the class no one seemed to notice us. We weren't exactly popular but somehow everyone knew us as the kids that skipped class and smoked weed. You would think that would make us cool in high school but no one seemed to care what we did, which was better in my opinion. Especially because of what's been happening. Walking to the back of the class with Aaron I could hear people sniffing out loud, letting us know they could smell us. When we sat down for class Aaron and I didn't really talk to each other as much as usual, we both took out some notebooks and started doodling. When class was over we showed each other what we both drew.

I showed him mine which was a ninja talking to a girl with a big butt. Aaron showed me his and it made me burst out laughing. "Is that supposed to be me?" I said pointing at the crudely drawn character with the mini Afro shooting lasers out of his hand at another crudely drawn Mr.Skradski. " what can I say I'm an artìst" he chuckled.

"What are you doing after school today?" Aaron asked. I leaned in and told him how my brother showed me his abilities and told me I should meet up with him so we can figure out what I could do and learn to control it.
His jaw dropped, "can I come!?" He said. I realized this was a 'never in a life time' situation, and I would love for him to be there with me. I've known Aaron for about three years. Since we met sophomore year we were virtually inseparable. He was like a brother and my family knew it. Actually I'm pretty sure they already knew that I told him about us. If they didn't I was gonna tell them. "Yea of course you can come!"

After school Aaron gave me a ride back to my house. No one was there my mom was most likely at the hospital, she was a nurse. And my brother was still in class, he goes to the community college across town. "My brother should be home soon. I'm pretty sure his class gets out around this time."
" You want to get your ass kicked in Mortal Kombat in the mean time" the new Mortal Kombat had just come out and Aaron and I played it non stop.

We get to my room and I open the door Aaron's right behind me. I feel a hand rest on my shoulder. I thought it was Aaron. "What are you doing?" I said as I looked and slapped the hand off. I looked back up.

I was no longer in my room. I was standing in a large field surrounded by trees. If I weren't so surprised by what had just happened, whatever it was I would have time to take in the sights. Instead my brother steps from behind Aaron and I.

"Welcome to day one of your training."

Jordan, my older brother was wearing his signature grin. "So you told him anyway huh? We all knew you would eventually." He said nodding towards Aaron. "He had a premature eblastuation in my garage." Aaron said chuckling. He wasn't phased at all by anything that was happening. "Marijuana?" Jordan asked. "Yup" Aaron answered for me. My brother was pacing like he was a drill Sergeant. "There will be no drugs or alcohol until you have mastered most of your abilities. If you don't have control while under the influence, bad things are bound to happen."
I nodded. It won't be a problem, I didn't drink that much and smoking was easy to quit. "Where are we?" I asked him. "Brazil" he said maintaining his usual grin. He loved showing off.

"First things first, powering up. If your powers are anything like our great grandfathers your skin was probably glowing before the blast correct?"

"Yea but it did it on its own, I don't know how." I said remembering the pressure I had felt.

"Aaron you might want to stand back just incase." My brother prompted Aaron to hide behind a fallen tree.

"Now" said Jordan. "This isn't Dragon Ball Z, powering up isn't just yelling and making your hair turn yellow. It's more about your emotion, usually anger or fear." "Try to channel any strong emotion, and for now try focusing on your hands for the time being."

I nodded again. It was a little awkward because I wasn't sure what to do. I guess all I could do is try. I closed my eyes and tried to remember the first time it happened in the alley. There were several strong emotions going on. Fear, anger, confusion, a cocktail of emotions start bubbling up inide of me I feel the pressure again in my hands. Not just my hand my whole body. I open my eyes and look around. I seem to be emitting a powerful blue light. My brother has teleported a distance away from me and seems to be pointing something in my direction. I don't know what to do. The pressure is building. If I don't do something fast I was going to explode.

A large vase appears a few yards in front of me out of thin air. It must've been my brother. "ZZT!" I hold my hand out and blast the pot like I've been doing it all of my life. Three more vases appear that I make light work of  one by one. Laser shot.

Soon at least thirty vases appeared. This time instead of hitting them one by one I wanted to try something different, but what I was really just winging it for now.
I put my arm straight out over my chest and slash horizontally. An arc of blue light bursts from in front of me and disappears after demolishing all thirty pots. Arc blast.

All of the energy I had built up was completely gone. I felt weak and dropped to a knee. My brother doing short bursts of teleportation towards me instead of one large one was slowly clapping.

"Congratulations, you made something happen on the first try, it took me at least a week before I could teleport a foot away. I would even throw up afterwards." My brother said approaching me.

"Yo, That was fucking insane! I felt like I was watching and x-men movie." Aaron said walking up to me fan-girling.

"Thanks guys, it just felt natural. I'm not even sure that was everything I could do." I said between breaths. My brother held a hand out to help me to my feet. "Trust me not even close."

He put is hands on Aaron and I's shoulders and just like that, we were back in my room. I looked at my alarm clock on the window sill. We'd been out there for four hours. I was exhausted so I flopped on my bed. Jordan and Aaron looked at each other. Reading each others minds they both say "Mortal Kombat? Hell yea!".
