[Set in Australia, hehe]
"Alice!"
Alice's head tilts upwards as she steps out of her mother's car, instinctively smiling at her best friend as he jogs towards her. Dark brown hair, brown eyes, round face, his smile larger than usual.
"What's with you?" Alice laughs as she swings her navy blue bag over her shoulder and closes the black door.
"Nothing, just glad that you're here" he smiles cheekily.
"How sweet" Alice replies mockingly before staring at the large brown building that is Northfield High School.
"School's awfully boring, boring lessons, boring teachers, boring uniforms," she looks down at her navy blue dress that reaches her knees. "Just once I wish that something interesting would happen."
"Maybe one day it will, now, to the lockers!" he cheers and Alice breaks out a smile.
As they enter the building, the halls are swarming with talking students wearing the same blue uniform.
"Oh look, it's Alice and her cat" Margery Donaldson mocks as she spots them.
"Shut up," Alice snaps.
"Now, now, Alice, that's no way to talk to other students," Principal Donaldson scowls as he walks past them.
"But-"
"No buts Alice, if you keep speaking like this we're going to have to call your parents," he replies.
Alice does not want that, her parents and older sister are extremely strict, and if they knew how she spoke, they just might blame it on James and not let her see him anymore. But she hated how Principal Donaldson favoured Margery just because he was her father. If it were any other student he'd be on her side.
"Sorry, Mr. Donaldson" and with that she headed down the hall with a frown on her face.
"Cheer up, Alice, it will get better, trust me" James smiles.
Later that day, in class, she was leaning on her desk, half asleep while her teacher yapped about King Henry the 8th when something caught her eye. A white blur jumping past the window, this made Alice sit up straight.
"Alice, what's wrong?" James asks quietly from beside her, noticing the confused look on Alice's face.
"Did you not see that?" she asks quietly, staring straight at the window on the door.
"See what Alice?" James asks irritably, Alice slouches back down.
"Nothing, I'm probably just seeing things" she shakes her head and looks back at the teacher whom was now glaring down at the pair.
"Sorry Mrs. Parkinson, I just asked Alice what a word meant" James apologises.
Mrs. Parkinson narrows her eyes at them before turning back towards the board.
A few minutes later, the same white blur caught Alice's eye again and she had the urgent need to see what it was. Her hand shoots up in the middle of the Mrs. Parkinson's speech and she stops talking.
"Yes, Alison?" she sighs.
"May I please go to the bathroom, I'm busting?" Alice asks urgently, her feet bouncing.
"Don't be too long, Alice" Mrs. Parkinson replies and Alice jumps up.
When she enters the hallway, she looks to the left and spots something extremely peculiar. A white rabbit at the very end of the corridor wearing a brown vest coat and holding a watch.
