Eclipse

Chapter 1

The siren goes off once again as I take a bit of my lunch. Just what I needed, an interrupted lunch. I drop my food and head to the bunker to get cool air into my lungs. Eclipse warnings have kept on coming recently. I wouldn't dare try to meet a Sun and if I did, I wouldn't cause an Eclipse because its no fun for anyone. Some people just get desperate for love I guess.

A crowd forms to head into the bunker with sirens growing louder and louder. I never panic at these warnings because nothing bad ever happens but once I enter the bunker, the metal door slams shut. The Head Moon ( Frigus Nox, also my dad ) tells everyone to remain calm and  everything is fine. But no one is panicked because where I live, its emotionless.

Moons have always been cold hearted and dead like. Never crying about the bad or the good. Just themselves. Whereas the Sun's have so much joy in them. Sometimes I wish I was a Sun because I act like it.
"LUNA!"

I jump and my Dad calls my name. I then turn to face him giving a confused look, tilting me head. He motions for me to head to him so I do. The crowd glares at me and create a path for me to walk through. I hesitate but then walk towards him. As soon as I reach him be looks down on me. It dosnt intimidate me though, I've never been scared of him.
"Glacies, make sure no one goes anywhere until its safe" He says turn so face him.

Glacies is kind of an assistant but old friend towards my Dad. He nods his head and Dad faces me.
"Follow me Luna."

He says it with a dead voice, of course, but it sounds monotone. I walk past the metal walls until we end up in his office. We are seated at his desk surrounded by mountains of books on the wall.
He brushes his white silky hair with his hands then leans towards me.
"Why were you last to enter the bunker?"

He is looking down and I don't know how ro respond. If I tell him because there is no reason to rush, he will shout. If I lie, he will shout. Its kinda unfair actually.
I lie.

"I'm sorry Dad but there was a cloud and-"

"THEY DONT COME BEFORE YOU!"
He's up from his chair now, pacing the room back and forth. I watch him for several moments until he stops to look at me. A groan escaped hid mouth.

"If this happens one more time Luna... I don't know what I will have to do but it won't be pretty."
A threat? Please I've heard that before. I get up from my seat and leave the room.
The hallway walls are bare and I wonder for a second why don't we decorate them, but we are Moons. We don't decorate.

The sirens have stopped now meaning the Head Sun has dealt with the Eclipse. Everyone has already left so I head back to my house and finish my lunch.
