I could go shopping at the supermarket, but I have no cooking skills. In that case, it would be safer to order at the restaurant for a dish that I can take home. With that in mind, I headed to the restaurant.
When some of the people I passed saw my face, they rushed off in a panic. I tilted my head. Even if they rumored that I was a weirdo, they just looked away and didn't take such an overt attitude.
When I arrived in front of the restaurant while wondering, I heard a loud voice from inside.
"I'll go find her!!"
It's the voice of Jennie. It feels terribly distraught.
"It's no use. I'm sorry, but..."
"But maybe..."
"Even I desperately tried to help her."
It seems that Lee is the one talking with Jennie. Then I finally remembered that I had been pushed into the sea by Lee. I open the restaurant door and step inside.
The two who were talking turned around almost at the same time. However, the expressions of the two were strikingly opposite.
Jennie with a surprised and happy expression on her face, burst into my heart with tears in her eyes.
While Lee let out a muffled voice, and his face turned pale as he saw me. Then he rolled out of the store without saying a word.
"I heard that you... fell into the sea..."
"Yeah."
"I'm... really worried..."
"I'm fine. Look, don't worry." After saying that, Jennie finally let go of her body from me and smiled at me.
"How did you get through that rough sea?"
As expected, I can't say that I came back from walking in the sea.
"Well, I don't really understand it myself, but before I knew it, I was washed up on the beach."
"It was so......"
As soon as she said that, Jennie's body suddenly collapsed. I supported her body and turned my eyes to the owner who was in the back of the restaurant. The owner rushed to Jennie, supported her, and carefully carried her to the tatami seating area where she lay down.
"I'm sorry. She was walking around the harbor without sleep last night when she heard that you fell into the sea... so maybe she feels exhausted."
"Is that so? I'm so sorry for worrying you guys."
I thought about Lee while answering the owner's words. Lee could be sued for attempted murder. However, when I decided to live quietly with Lulu from now on, I didn't want to get into trouble with the police. I glance at the sleeping face of Jennie.
"I just wanted to ask you a little question, but are you going to get Jennie married to Lee?"
Then the owner raised his eyebrows and made a sour face.
"Is it okay if I talk to you for a minute?" said the owner and I follow behind it.
"Her mother died about ten years ago," the owner started talking quietly while walking. I shut up and listen to the words.
"She has a rather difficult illness, and I need money for hospitalization and so on. The person who helped me with that was my childhood friend, Sun-ho Lee's father."
Somehow I understood what the owner wanted to say. Even if he knew how Jennie feels, he probably wouldn't be able to strongly refuse because he owes money to Lee's house.
"Are you still in debt?"
"No, I've finished returning it. But, still..."
"......is that so"
"I was also spoiled by Jennie's kindness. To think that if she was holding back from doing what she wanted to do for standing at the restaurant replacing her mother..."
"Wasn't standing in that restaurant also one of the things she wanted to do?"
"Is that so... If it is... I feel like I can be saved a little."
"Is this what you want to talk about?"
When I said that, the owner stopped and turned around.
"Would you please take that kid... Jennie out of this town?"
"Huh?"
"I'm not asking you to take care of her, no. But, if there's no chance, I just feel like she'll hold back herself again."
"That is......"
"I can tell by looking at Sun-ho. Yesterday wasn't an accident, was it?"
"..."
"It's pathetic but I can't say it strongly to Lee, so..."
"I'm sorry, but I have my own circumstances..."
If I had been alone, I might have accepted it casually. Even I don't want to sit back and watch Jennie and Lee get married.
But now I have Lulu. I cannot take Jennie with me. Even so, if Jennie accepts Lulu...
"Can Jennie drive a car? "
"Yes."
The owner looked dumbfounded for a moment before replying.
"Today I came to the restaurant to have my meal delivered. Can you deliver?"
"Oh yes. What do you want to have?"
"Mainly on sashimi and please season lightly. I will leave the rest to you."
"Is it okay for one portion?"
"No, two portions, please. From now, every day."
"For two portions? ......Yes, okay."
"Also, can I ask Jennie to do the delivery?"
"Yes, that's fine, but..."
The owner looked at me with a questioning face.
This may be a risky gamble. But if it's Jennie, who's the only one that tried to open up to me, who's been called a weirdo, I'm sure she'll be fine. I wondered why but I felt like that.
"Please tell Jennie to be careful not to get lost."
"Huh?"
"If she gets lost and can't go back to the restaurant after going to the delivery, it will be a problem."
"...Yes. Yes...I will tell her well...Thank you, Thank you very much."
