------Jason's POV------

Lucas parked the four wheeler next to a bunch of cars, twisting the key to shut it off. He took off his helmet before saying, "You can let go now, Jason."

"Are we there yet? I'm still shaking."

Lucas let out a laugh and pried my arms from off around him, saying, "Come on, let's go inside."

He led me inside, past some crowds of people before we reached the table where Zay and his girlfriend were waiting.

"Hey guys!" Zay said, giving us both fist bumps, before turning to his girlfriend. "This is Vanessa," he announced.

"Nice to meet you," I said, reaching across the table to shake her hand. "I'm Jason."

"It's nice to meet you too," she said, shaking it firmly, "Where are your other friends, Lucas?" She asked, looking to see if she could see them. "Especially your 'girlfriends'." She pointedly looked at Zay, who shifted uncomfortably.

"Ok, ok, I get it, babe," he said.

"They're back in New York," Lucas replied. "Farkle and Smackle had a date night, and Maya and Riley had a girls night."

"Oh, that's too bad." She sighed, before staring lustily at Zay. "You'll be all alone with little old me." Zay didn't seem too upset by that and looked at her with the same look in his eyes.

"Hey, Jason," Lucas said, causing me to turn to him. "Why don't we... uh, get some water?"

"But I'm not-"

Lucas grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the way. I tried to get out of his strong grip, but he just kept pulling me over to the edge of the dance floor. It was loud and noisy, and there was definitely no water here.

"Sorry, I couldn't stand watching those two flirt with each other. They've been all over each other since he's been back and I thought it would've died down by now, but I guess not."

"It's ok, Lucas. Not everyone is ready to show their love so openly." I added a bit of a bitter tone to the last sentence, and Lucas seemed a little thoughtful at that.

"And who are some people?" he asked, smiling. "Anyone I know?"

"Oh, you know him fairly well," I said.

------Lucas's POV------

I knew it. I knew he was in love with Thor.

I started to wonder when I had gone wrong, and missed my chance, before shaking my head. It was obvious it was during the fight. I'd gone too far, and lost my shot. Then Thor had swooped in, shown him a good time, and now he was unavailable.

"Oh," I said, looking down. This might be my last chance to win him back. I knew that I wanted to be with him, not Riley, not Maya, not anyone else. And I knew that I needed to do something.

"But that's ok," Jason said, unaware of my inner plight. "Some people just need time to figure out what they want."

"What do you want?" I asked, looking him in the eye.

He seemed a little startled by that, before turning away. "Um... there's this someone... I've got my eyes on..."

"Uh-huh."

"But what I really want is some water!" He finished, turning around with a goofy grin on his face. It was obviously faked, but hey, I might have been faking some of my excitement too.

"Oh sure," I said, smiling back at him. I couldn't help it at first, that smile lit up the room. But then I got an idea. "Maybe we can get some in a bit. But first, let me show you how us Texans party."
