ch~1 The Hack

Lily sat in her computer lesson looking forward to the end of the school day so she could go home and play her beloved video game. The screen briefly flickered before going black as the bell rang declaring the end of class. Without success, her teacher attempted to restart the computer. The entire school's computer network had been infiltrated!

As chaos broke out in the classroom, Lily watched in shock. The teachers were rushing to find a solution as the pupils complained that they couldn't access their homework. Everyone seemed to be in a frenzy except for her, Lily observed as she peered about. She had always found cybersecurity and hacking to be fascinating, and she was confident that she possessed the knowledge necessary to contribute to the solution.

She approached her teacher and offered her assistance, and he gratefully accepted. Lily felt a surge of excitement as she realized that she could finally put her coding skills to use in a real-life situation. She quickly made her way to the school's IT department, where the staff were frantically trying to figure out what had happened.

Lily strolled up to the IT department and spotted one of the employees scowling and grumbling to himself at his computer screen. She walked up to him, curious, and questioned as to what was wrong.

We've got ransomware, the employee remarked as she turned to face him.Lily's eyebrows wrinkled in surprise. "Ransomware? like the computer virus the fact that demands money in exchange for access to files?

The employee nodded solemnly. "The one is that. It's also awful. We have numerous encrypted data, and the hackers are want an absurd sum of money to decrypt them.

Lily possessed an intense feeling of excitement as well as nervousness. She had the chance to put on her skills as a computer spy. "There's nothing to worry about, I'll certainly take care of everything!" she shouted.

The fellow worker voiced skepticism. "You? Someone in high school?"

Without a second thought, Lily began to work. She unlocked her laptop and started conducting network scans on the campus. She studied through the data and attempted to notice a pattern. The hacker had left a few evidence that suggested they were a student from a rival high school, and that the attack appeared to come from a third party.

Lily left to acquire further proof after learning this new information. In an effort to identify anyone who could have observed something unusual, she spoke with her classmates and professors. Even more, she put up a trap on the network in an effort to capture the hacker red-handed.

Lily had a wave feeling of fulfillment as the day came to an end. Although she was aware of the fact there was still tons to be done, she felt for the first time that she was experiencing headway. With preparations to continue with the investigation the next day, she packed up her laptop and left straight home.
