It's hard to believe that we're only fourteen years old and going through something like this. We're supposed to be worrying about school, and hanging out with friends, not searching for our missing friend and questioning if he's still alive.
Aiden was always the responsible one, the one who made sure we didn't get into trouble. He was the one who made sure we got home safely and checked on us when we were sick. So, when he didn't show up after school one day, we knew something was wrong. We tried calling him, but his phone went straight to voicemail. That's when we started to panic.
We informed the police, hoping they would be able to find him quickly. But a few days later, they found a dead body and claimed it was Aiden's. It's hard to accept that our friend could be gone forever, but we refuse to believe that it's his body. It just doesn't make sense. Aiden was always so careful. How could he have ended up dead?
Lily, Aiden's twin sister, is taking it the hardest. She's been in a state of shock since the news of Aiden's disappearance. She can't imagine a world without her brother, and neither can we. We've been doing everything we can to support her, but it's hard when we're all struggling to make sense of it.
I've been doing everything I can to help. I've been talking to everyone we know, trying to gather any information that could help us find Aiden. I've even created a social media page, hoping that someone out there might have seen something or know something that could help us. But so far, we've had no luck.
Every day that passes is another day without Aiden. It's hard to imagine going back to school without him there, and it's even harder to think about life without him. We're just kids, and we're not equipped to handle something like this. But we're not giving up on Aiden. We're going to keep searching until we find him.
I went into Lily's room, and my heart ached to see her in such a vulnerable state. She was sitting on her bed, her knees pulled up to her chest, and tears streaming down her cheeks as she buried her head in her knees. I sat down beside her, gently placing a hand on her back.
"Lily, I know it's incredibly hard, but we need to try to accept it," I said softly. "It's been around ten days now, and there's no chance he's still alive."
Lily looked up at me with a pained expression, her eyes were red and swollen from crying. "But I can't accept it, Hazel," she whispered hoarsely. "He's my brother, and I can't just forget about him."
I understood Lily's pain. Aiden was not just a friend to us; he was family. But I also knew that holding on to false hope would only prolong her suffering. I gently took her hand in mine and suggested we go to a cafe, hoping a change of scenery would help distract her from her grief.
At the cafe, I ordered hot chocolate for both of us, knowing it was Lily's favorite. We sat in a quiet corner, sipping our drinks, and I tried my best to make conversation, talking about mundane things to take her mind off Aiden. She remained mostly silent, but I could see a flicker of relief in her eyes, even if it was just for a brief moment.
As I was walking home, the sky began to darken, and a cool breeze picked up, sending shivers down my spine. I was lost in thought, thinking about the day's events when suddenly, something caught my eye. I turned to look, and there he was. Aiden, the love of my life. My heart skipped a beat, and I froze in disbelief.
I couldn't believe my eyes. Was it really him? My mind raced with questions. What was he doing here? Where was he from the past ten days?
(To be contd...............)
