In every different timeline there will always be someone to die, Takemichi known as the crybaby hero has been suffering the losses of his friends and wanting to give up, but he couldn't take it no more. His mission has been long destroyed and was done to rot as he keeps something from his friends that involves his true reason of hiding his true self.
On the side note: Hinata is not Takemichi girlfriend but like a sister figure to him, same goes with Hinata but some reason people see them as a couple which cause everyone that Takemichi cherish to die by a certain jealous boy "kisaki". Naoto and the others that know about Takemichi time travel power, only know about one of his powers as Takemichi still hides more secrets. Hinata knows about Takamichi's real self as she helped him with his plan saving the others as she also known about his secrets which Takemichi told her and that Takemichi only faked his emotions with the others and not to her as they known to rely/trust on each other, but he also cares about the others as well. Let's Just say when Takemichi want something he will get it because that's who he is when he's serious to get it. Mikey Manjiro well I don't know how to involve him as he is somehow in my opinion half of the cause because of being "parentless", and mostly have the dark impulse which leads everyone to change differently in different timelines from his actions.
