Summary: Y/N woke late one night to find their roommate eating their leftovers from the previous day. Though, "roommate" may not be the best word to describe their relationship or feelings.-------------------------
Y/N woke to the quiet sound of clatter downstairs. They sat up, rubbing their eye and throwing the blanket off of them with an annoyed grumble. Their gaze drifted to the clock on the bedside table. 2:46AM. 'Great.' They sighed, standing and stretching. Y/N peered around the empty room, realizing their roommate was gone. Their brow furrowed slightly before they decided to open the door and walk out.
They yawned as they crept downstairs, their tiredness slowly dissipating with every step. Once they reached the ground floor, they peeked around inside of the kitchen. Y/N frowned at the hooded brunette that sat on the counter, munching on left-overs from the previous night. Y/N looked a little closer and frowned.
"Those are mine." Y/N said, their voice gruff from sleep. Ben looked over, his grey eyes half-lidded as he peered at Y/N. He looked from them to the container, then back at them.
"I don't see your name on it." He responded flatly. Y/N frowned harder and walked in the kitchen completely. They looked at the styrofoam container in his hands. The food was already half-eaten. Y/N shot Ben a glare and grabbed the oven mitts that hung from a hook on the wall.
"You saw me buy it. And put it in that. And then put it in the fridge. And I know you heard me when I specifically went, 'Ben, don't eat this, I'm saving it for lunch tomorrow.'" Y/N stated, holding the oven mitts in their hands.
"Must've forgotten then. Whoops." Ben shot Y/N a sarcastic smirk. Y/N crinkled their nose at him and chucked one of the mitts. He ducked, watching the oven mitt fall to the ground. "Missed m-" He was cut off as Y/N threw the other, smacking him in the face with it. It dropped to the ground as Ben gave Y/N an unamused and almost annoyed look. He stood, bending over and grabbing the mitt. Y/N narrowed their eyes at him. Ben shot them a look and threw the oven mitt back, smirking slightly as it hit their face and dropped to the ground.
Y/N gave the brunette a look and picked up the mitt, hanging it back up. They watched as the darkly dressed teen threw the styrofoam away and put the fork away. Y/N stifled a yawn, their eyes squinting at Ben as he headed back upstairs silently. Y/N followed him, scratching the back of their neck as a tired feeling came over them again despite their annoyance from a moment ago.
Y/N walked back into the bedroom, yawning again. They were about to grab their blanket when they felt Ben wrap his arms around their waist and pull them close. Y/N tensed up a bit with shock, turning their head slightly. They could hear Ben's slow breathing directly beside their ear and see him just barely out of the corner of their eye.
"You're cute when you're annoyed." He muttered in their ear. Y/N could practically hear the little smirk on his face. Their cheeks flushed a bit as they frowned.
"I'm not." They denied his statement, looking back at their bed.
"Yes, you are." Ben repeated, pulling Y/N closer to him. "You're just the sweetest looking thing when you're tired." Y/N felt a wave of embarrassment cross them as the brunette whispered in their ear. Their cheeks reddened in the darkness, butterflies flitting in their stomach. They were quiet for a second.
"Be quiet and go to sleep." Y/N finally said, pushing Ben's arms off of them and climbing on the bed. Ben chuckled quietly.
"Whatever." He said before following. Y/N threw their blanket over themself, their back turned to Ben. They could feel Ben getting comfortable beside them. The burning sensation in their cheeks had lessened a little as they got comfortable themself. Y/N shut their eyes, ready to fall asleep, when they felt Ben's arm wrap around them again and pull them close. Their cheeks flushed once more.
"Hey-"
"I'd rather not wake up to you having a nightmare again." Ben cut them off, his voice quiet and edged with sleep. "You said someone holding you in your sleep helps with that. Now shut up."
Y/N frowned. They knew he was right- they had told him that, yeah, but it still felt a little odd. They grumbled under their breath and buried their face in the blanket.
"You're a bitch." They mumbled at Ben, sleep slowly taking them again.
"I know." Ben responded, his voice quiet as sleep overcame him as well.---
