Emma's POV

——————————

I was awoken from my deep slumber by hushed voices conversing with one another, I soon recognised those voices to be Drew, Levi, Austin and Nate. I slowly opened my eyes, rubbing them with my fists as I did so to see that we were not in Lucy's house like I last remembered. Where the heck are we? Wait, why am I here? With the boys? And where's Lucy? My brain was working at a hundred miles an hour trying to answer all of these questions, I was raking through my brain for any slight clue as to where we were.

"Hey Emma, you okay?" Austin asked me, watching me closely as I sat there and took in his words.

"Umm hi Austin... hey guys" I spoke quietly, still unsure as to where we all where. "I'm okay, just tired I guess. Can I ask where we are exactly? And where Lucy is because I don't remember a thing?" I replied with a curious tone as I  continuously glanced around the room, searching for any clues that would tell me my whereabouts.

"Emma, do you not remember anything?" Drew asked me the question as if I should know the answer. After a few seconds of Drew, Nate and Austin receiving a blank look from me, a voice from above spoke, making me jump into a sitting position in the process which earned a chuckle from the boys.

"Emma, you ran from the park to Drew's house to get help because Lucy was attacked by an older boy.  You then had a mild panic attack so I gave you sleeping medicine and whilst you were sleeping...Drew, Nate and Austin went to go find Lucy" I listened closely to the voice who was from above but since I moved it is now known as Levi. I raised my eyebrows to give the gesture that he should continue explaining what happened. "Anyway, when the boys did find Lucy, she was injured... Lucy was stabbed twice... in her stomach area, we are at the hospital just now and have been for the past eight hours. Lucy is doing okay, they managed to stitch up her wounds but they are now just waiting on her to wake up and when she does, we can go see her" Levi explained slowly. My best friend was stabbed...twice and I ran away. My best friend is in a hospital bed as I sit here. My best friend must have been scared and I wasn't there for her.

Once more the room fell silent, I sat there just thinking about how bad a best friend I have been and how I'm going to try harder in the future. "Emma, can you come with Nate and I for a second whilst we go get some food from the café, you must be hungry and we haven't eaten either" Levi asked me, I gave a slight nod, not trusting my voice in case my lips allow my sobs to escape through them. With that, Nate and Levi left the room with me walking slowly behind them with my hair cascading over my face as I look towards the floor, hiding the fact that I may cry any second now. As I lifted my head to see how close we were to the café, I noticed the boys had stopped walking and were waiting on me to catch up, as I was doing so they were whispering to each other whilst glancing at me every once in a while, which made me nervous. Once I had caught up with the boys Levi and Nate continued to walk but with me between them, for us to soon arrive at the café.  I got to choose the table so I picked one near the door and sat at the wall with Levi sitting In the chair directly across from me whilst Nate went up to order us all some food.

"Emma.." Levi began. "When you were sleeping, Lucy's nurse came into the family waiting room to inform us of what they found on Lucy's wrists. Did you know about her depression and not tell anybody or were you completely unaware of it like us." I froze when the words left Levi's mouth. They know. The boys know about Lucy's depression. I'm the only person who she has told and I promised to keep that secret until I die. Shit - she wont think it was me who told the boys will she? My thoughts got the better of me and only did I snap back to reality when Levi cleared his throat, looking at me expectantly.
