Raph's trauma

chapter 1

This is my first book btw so if it is terrible don't hate on me for it and something's might not be spelled right so yea hope you enjoy !!!

After the incident with Mikey, Raph has been extremely distant and quiet and we are all starting to worry about him.

He spends most of his time in his room. Only coming out to get a piece of fruit from the kitchen and to go to the punching bag, but he is very quiet and keeps to himself.

One day Donnie decided that he was going to try to talk to Raph. He did not hear Donnie coming up behind him and when Donnie spoke it scared Raph so much that he turned around and punched Donnie in the face. When Raph realized what he did he just stared at Donnie in shock. It took a bit for Donnie to figure out what happened but when he did, he tried to tell Raph that it was ok that it was an accident. But it was too late. Raph was already running to his room slamming, his door crying.

It's been like that for about a week now. Raph doesn't even leave his room anymore. We try to leave food under his door but we don't know if he's even eating it. The only way that we know he's even still alive is because we can hear his screams of pain and fear. Screaming "No! It was an accident! I didn't mean to hurt them!" We can only begin to imagine how much pain he is in right now.

Then one day it all stopped. No more screams of pain. Nothing. Just silence...I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing, but we think it might be over. Then all of a sudden there is a loud BOOM !!! Coming from the hothead's room. We all run over to see what happened, but the door won't open. I bang on the door, calling to Raph to get him to open the door and let us in but he doesn't. Then Leo tells us to back up he's going to kick open the door. The scene inside nearly breaks my heart. There was a huge hole in the wall and Tiger Claw along with some foot minions were standing there. When they see us, they take off running to their lair to report to Shredder where we live. Leo tries to go after them, but Master Splinter calls him back to where he is kneeling beside Raph, lying on the floor. At first I think he might be dead but then I see the telltale sign of the faint rise and fall of his chest knowing that he is still breathing... barely. "We must get him to Donatello's lab immediately!" Master Splinter says. I nod and try to pick Raph up without hurting him but I can't. Leo has to come over and pick up his legs so I can get his arms. Together we managed to make it to the lab where we put him on a table for Donnie to examine. "Well, he has 6 broken ribs, a mild concussion, a broken arm and a giant gash in his leg. But other than that he will be fine and will make a full recovery" Donnie says.

It's been almost 2 days before Raph wakes up. It was my turn to be on watch when I heard a faint groan of pain coming from Raph and I ran over to him to see him trying to sit up "woah hang on bro. take it easy. Don says that you have 6 broken ribs, a mild concussion, a broken arm and you needed stitches in your leg." Trying to ease him back onto the table. Donnie says you can either stay in here and rest or you can go to my room. At least until we can fix your wall." I tell him trying to get him to lay down again. "Why can't I go back in my room? What happened to my wall?" He asked looking confused. " Tiger Claw and some of the foot clan blew it up and found us. Wait, you don't know what happened to the wall?" I ask, my turn to look confused. "No. I think I must have blacked out or something...the Rat King was there...he had one of his rats throw me against a wall and that's all I remember besides waking up in here." "Oh...we thought the wall exploding was what did this to you but I guess not. I'm going tell the guys that your awake. I'll be right back."

I found Master Splinter in the dojo mediating and Leo, Mikey, and Donnie in the living room watching space heroes. I told them that Raph was awake, and we all practically ran to Raph. He and Master Splinter were already talking about what happened when we walked in, and Mikey immediately ran over to Raph and hugged him very tightly. Raph made a noise somewhere between a grunt and a cry of pain as soon as he heard it, Mikey let go and we all looked at Raph in shock "I...I'm fine." Raph says it like he's trying to convince himself as well as the rest of us. We all know that he is lying to try to protect us from all the pain that he is in because it doesn't matter how much pain he is in he always tries to hide it from the rest of us. All of a sudden Raph started making a whimpering sound staring at the back wall and breathing heavily, fear clearly written all over his face. He was staring at something that the rest of us couldn't see. Then he suddenly screams "NO!" at the top of his lungs. Then he lunges at Mikey who jumps back out of the way. Everyone just stares at Raph who looks like he might pass out at any minuet "Hey, hey take it easy. You need to lie back down." I say holding him and trying to get him to lay down again. Everyone but me and Master Splinter are still in shock and staring at Raph when Mikey runs out of the room. "Guess I'd better go get him." Leo sighs. "I'll come too once I check on Raph." Donnie says turning his attention back to Raph who has passed out again from exhaustion. "Do you think...?" I start to ask Sensei but trail off when I see that he's nodding. I turn my attention back to Donnie. "How's Raph, Don?" I ask watching Raph in concern. "Well, he messed up a few of the stiches in his leg, plus he's exhausted but all he needs is rest and lots of it." Donnie says looking up at us. "Good now you must go see your brother Donatello." Master Splinter told his second youngest son. "Yes Sensei" Donnie says before exiting the lab. "And you my daughter must rest." The old rat orders but I didn't want to leave Raph's side, so I pulled up a chair and fell asleep. All we can do is wait for our hotheaded big brother to wake up.
