HELIA FELT THE HOOD GET PULLED OFF HER HEAD as she tried to twist against the ropes tying her hands around the back of the chair. As soon as she could see again, though, she thought they may as well let her keep the hood. A bright projector light shone into her eyes, nearly blinding her. She turned her head to the side to avoid looking right into it, finding Wednesday tied to a chair beside her, her bangs sticking up on end from being messed up by the hood.

Wednesday caught her eyes immediately, but was confused as to why Helia looked almost calm with the situation. She knew she was okay with the practical kidnapping, but she expected Helia to be at least a little fazed, instead she looked slightly irritated.

Helia looked back around the Nightshade’s meeting room, seeing cloaked figures surrounding them in a circle. Each one had a raven’s mask covering their faces, the same one Rowan had under his bed and the same one Helia had once caught Nick hiding.

“Who dares breach our inner sanctum?” a deep, distorted voice asked, trying to create an air of mystery, but Helia only rolled her eyes and Wednesday’s face remained expressionless.

“You can take the mask off, Bianca,” Wednesday told her immediately.

Bianca huffed in frustration, pulling her hood down and pushing her mask up to her forehead. Following her lead, the rest of the Nightshade’s did the same, all except for the one that was standing on Helia’s right.
