Crushed ballroom dreams

Crystal prep is holding a gala. A fancy school needs fancy events doesn't it? Lemon zest was excited. she wondered what her friends would think of the idea. She knew Sugarcoat would love the idea of a gala. It's been one of her biggest fantasies for a while.    Lemon zest walked through the crowds. Her classmates spoke of what they were going to wear to the gala,or who they were taking as their date. Lemon zest eventually reached her friends by their lockers. Sugarcoat leaned against hers looking at the flyer for the gala. "Indigo,I think this would be good for you". Sugarcoat said in her usual blunt tone. "You need to interact with other students who aren't my friends or on the sports team". Indigo,not facing her girlfriend,crossed her arms. "So you're going?". Indigo frowned and turned to face Sugarcoat. "Yes". Sugarcoat placed the flyer in Lemon zest's hands. Lemon zest grinned at how unsynthetic Sugarcoat was about this. Sunny flare sighed. "Indigo,I don't understand why you wouldn't want to go". Sunny flare faced Indigo. "Don't you like school events?". Indigo scowled at her friend and slammed her locker making Sugarcoat jump to cover her ears. "What the hell is your problem?". Sugarcoat asked covering her eyes. Indigo didn't respond and just stormed away. Sugarcoat looked confused then sighed and removed her hands with her ears. Sugarcoat crossed her arms and leaned against her locker. "Ooo,So are we all going?". Lemon zest asked. turning off her music. "I wanna go!". Sunny flare said clasping her hands together. Sugarcoat smiled. "Me too". Sunny and Sugarcoat exchanged playful grins. "I'll think about it,If I can find a dress I like I'll come". Sour sweet said flipping her ponytail. "All right!". Lemon zest jumped letting go of the flyer.

Indigo stormed through the halls ignoring everyone around her. She wasn't sure why she just slammed her locker. She just felt so angry. She expected when she told Sugarcoat she didn't want to go to the gala she would at least try to reason with her. It didn't even seem like she cared at all. Indigo came to stop and took a deep breath. She walked into the bathroom and wiped water on her face. Suri appeared in the doorway. "Hey,Why are you here all alone?". Suri grinned and walked closer. "Go away Suri". Indigo said trying to stay calm. "Had another fight with sweet little Sugarcoat?". Suri leaned against the sink next to Indigo. Indigo couldn't lie. Her and Sugarcoat did fight often especially at school. "Not really a fight since I stormed off before she could say anything". Indigo dried her hands and walked out of the bathroom leaving Suri alone.

Sunny flare and Sugarcoat linked arms walking around CPA talking about the gala. "I'm sorry Indie doesn't wanna go with you coatie". Sunny flare frowned. Sugarcoat shrugged. "I can't get mad at her,If she doesn't want to go that's fine!". Sugarcoat smiled weakly. Lemon zest walked around the corner to see Sunny and Sugar. She listened from a distance. "Even if I was looking forward to it..". Sugarcoat frowned laying her head on Sunny flare's shoulder. "Why can't you?". Sunny flare asked looking at Sugarcoat. "Because without Indigo I'll just be alone". Sugarcoat frowned. Lemon zest felt bad. She didn't want that for Sugarcoat. "Well that's no fun..". Sunny flare looked down at the ground. "But don't let me ruin it! I'm sure you and sour will have so much fun!". Sugarcoat forced a smile. Sunny flare smiled too.

What Lemon zest heard followed her around. Maybe if she told Indigo Sugarcoat was Disappointed she'd agree to go? That would work,if she could find Indigo that is. Indigo disappeared from school after she stormed off. Her parents said she was at the school practicing. Lemon zest didn't feel like bothering Indigo there. She didn't know what she was going to do but she had to figure it out fast.

Sugarcoat watched Indigo practice from afar. Normally she would watch a lot closer but she wanted to give Indigo her space. She picked up her bag and started walking home. She started to think what she could've said differently. Maybe it was her fault Indigo stormed off. Sugarcoat was taken from her thoughts when she bumped into Lemon zest. "Oh! I'm so sorry Coatie!". Lemon zest hurried to her feet to help Sugarcoat. "It's ok lemon,I should've been paying attention". Sugarcoat dusted off her uniform. "So uh,Indigo isn't coming to the gala?". Lemon zest asked. Sugarcoat just shook her head. "Oh..well uh". Lemon zest had a thought,she didn't really think it through but she was going to it anyway. "If you still wanna go I could take you". Lemon zest smiled neverously. Sugarcoat raised an eyebrow. "You'd do that? For me?". Sugarcoat asked. Lemon zest nodded. "I don't want you to miss out on anything!". Lemon smiled. "As friends?". Sugarcoat asked putting her hands behind her back. "Just friends,I'd do anything for you to be able to live that gala dream of yours!". Lemon zest grinned. "Thank you so much Lemon!". Sugarcoat hugged Lemon zest. "This means so much to me! Thank you thank you thank you!". Sugarcoat gave Lemon one last hug and ran off. Lemon zest felt proud. She just made her friend's day a lot better. Now she just had to worry about how her other friend would react...
