Open in the morning at the Baxter house as Vanessa walks into the kitchen seeing Mike  holding his old  revolutionary war gun  as he's cleaning  it

Vanessa: what are you doing

Mike: cleaning  a flintlock  musket  from  the  revolutionary War   while enjoying   a  little  bacon and  biscuits
This is  what our forefathers died for

Vanessa: can't you do that  in your den

Mike: the bill of rights  says  I can do this   wherever  I  want to  do  this

Vanessa: really   well  what if  your  two year old  grandson and granddaughter walked  in  here

Mike: and overpowers me

Vanessa: your back  could be  turned   you  could  be   reaching  for a  piece of bacon

Mike: yeah  they could  grab  the musket  out of  my hand    shove me to the  ground    pour  the correct amount of  powder in here   take  the ramrod  jam it  down  there   get a  musket ball  put  that  in there   take  the ramrod  back  out   jam  that   back down there
Half cock it    put  a percussion cap  in there   fully  cock   the thing   and  somehow   shot  me  in the foot!

Vanessa: just  keep  the safety on

Mike: honey   this whole gun  is a safety
It's a  miracle      we're not all speaking British   right now

(As eve walks into the kitchen)

Eve: morning mom

Vanessa: morning sweetie

Eve:  morning dad   what you got there
A        69 caliber  flintlock

Mike: that's my girl

Eve: hey  can I  camp out  at the  Magness  arena   for  Katy perry  tickets
Thursday night

Mike: you bet    you know   how I feel about  camping

Vanessa: no  Mike   Mike   (looking at eve) honey   it's a school night

(As Vanessa walked out of the kitchen)

Mike: oh  that's right    school night   can't go  (under breath)  killjoy  strikes again

(As Vanessa comes back into the kitchen  going  up to Mike  as she heard what he said)

Vanessa: what  was  that

Mike: look  eve       was just  saying  how nice  you  looked    and   I was  agreeing with her

Vanessa: well   it just  didn't  seem   like nearly  enough  time   went by   for  you guys  to   say   all that

Mike: there's never enough time   baby
To tell  you   how good  you  look

Vanessa: ah

Cut to later on at the Baxter house  Mike is  in  his den  hanging his flintlock musket gun  up  on the top of the door way  as Vanessa is coming downstairs

Mike: hey  v    could you   come in here
A minute     I hang up  my new gun

Vanessa: oh  that's nice

Mike: yeah

Vanessa: yeah    well  you don't seem happy  about  it

Mike: well   the  simplicity of it   in contrast  with  my new  shotguns  makes  the whole  den   look  a  little busy
