Kit woke with a start. The darkness was gone and she was blinded by bright white fluorescent light. She was laying on her back with her arms stretched out in front if her, catheters sticking out from her they punctured her skin (AN: sorry those who are squeamish) .
Blinking, she scanned the room and mentally gasped when her eyed laid on a young man sitting in a chair a couple of yards from her hospital bed. That young man being Jules, his hands covering his face, and his body shaking as if he were crying.
"Jules," Kit groaned attempting to sit up before quickly laying down again as the task was far too painful. Slowly he removed his hands from his head, revealing his handsome and tear-stained face. Immediately, he rose and moved to kneel down beside her, one of his hands moving to caress her left cheek.
"Kit," He whispered his voice hoarse.
"How king was I out?" She asks her voice soft and weak.
"Three days,Kit," He replied resting his forehead on hers. "God, you had me so worried. I haven't left that chair or slept since you went into a coma."
On the inside, Kit was swooning and squealing like a schoolgirl at the closeness of the handsome young gentleman by the name of Jules Duret. On the outside she was rigid and afraid.
