" Dude, you ready yet!?" Liam called from downstairs. " Almost!" I said in a high pitched tone. I heard thumping of feet coming upstairs. " What does your mom think of this?" Liam said in the doorway. " She says it's fine. Where are you going?" I asked. " Summer camp, and it has girls!" he announced excitedly.
Cool...he got to go to summer camp...I never really liked going anywhere out of my town, but I was willing to try this. I'm 15, and Liam asked his dad if I could go to this summer school. His dad agreed with it, even though it costed $86.00. I thanked Liam all year for this. I was just hoping no girls were there. They liked to tease me a lot because I look like a girl.
I had light brown, messy hair that touched the very tips of my shoulders, and I had carmel skin that got darker in seconds when I was out in the sun. I was short...like 4'6 short...I wore bright colors, and I was loud with my style. I had dark hazel eyes, that usually showed shyness. I had a high pitched voice, but not like an annoying first grader. More like...a teenage girl. I wasn't ashamed. I never have been. I like the way I do things. It's the way I do it that makes it different.
Liam began to help me pack. " C'mon dude, you've done enough." I said, trying to persuade him to stop. " Shut up softie. You deserve this. Besides, my dad is going to be here in ten minutes." he said, a smirk forming at the corners of his lips. " Crap, we need to hurry!" I yelped, packing as fast as I could.
As we were about to finish, I saw Liam stuff something inside of my pants that was packed in the suitcase. " Um? What are you doing?" I questioned him. " It's a treat in case you get hungry in the middle of the night," he replied. " Don't open it until you get to your suit!" he warned. I nodded, zipping the suitcase.
My phone was stuffed in my pocket, along with my iPod. The rest of my electronics were in the suitcase.
Before I knew it, I packed my stuff in the car of Liam's dad, and we were on the road. I sat there, gazing through the window. Car rides didn't bother me as much, but Liam took the time to read on his nook. We were the kind of best friends that could multi-task like no other. We talked, read, played games, normally kept ourselves busy.
After an hour of sitting in the car, when I came out of the car, I nearly collapsed. Good thing Liam was there. " Clumsy. What are you doing?" he asked, hanging on to me. " Well, when you just get out of the car from an hour drive, wouldn't you fall?" I responded. " Not unless you streched." He added. I looked down. "Whatever." I muttered. "Whatever my ass, we need to go to the ceremony." He said, taking my luggage. His dad was ahead of us, and we were making it to the main building. All I saw was guys. I guess it was an all boys summer school? Guess so. Chaos was consuming the building, and boys were everywhere. Someone tapped me on the shoulder, and I jumped. I turned to see one of the staff. " Hello there! I'm Karen, your guide, and you are?". She had a narrow, lean figure. She had jet black hair, and had a Spanish accent. Her skin was a golden brown. She was holding a clipboard in her hand, and her dark brown eyes met mine. " Sky Bronc." I replied calmly. "Okay...Oh, yep! Your suit is 440 on the 3rd floor! See you there!" She spoke, and strutted off someplace else. I saw Liam taking my luggage and we began our way to my suit. Continuing to walk to my suit, someone caught my eyes.
He was thin, and had a pretty good posture. He was a bit pale, but you could see color in his skin. His fashion was full of cool colors, like blue, and purple. He hid his dark brown, wavy hair under his black and purple flat bill hat that was worn backwards.
My eyes still on him, he turned and we made eye contact. He smiled weakly and waved. I blushed, clearly embarrassed, and quickly waved back. When I turned my head, Liam was 2 inches in front of me. " What the heck dude!?" I freaked out. " Why were you looking at that guy?" he questioned me, smirking. " What guy?" I lied. " Don't play dumbass with me, that guy that waved at you!" he continued. We began walking when Liam's dad called us. " Tell me!" he nagged. " He caught my eye. There. Better?" I stubbornly answered. " Sure cause he caught your eye. It's not bad to have a crush dude." he said, shrugging a bit. " Stop making stupid accusations. I don't have a crush on someone who just caught my eye. He just stood out. That's all." I said in a defensive response. Liam turned his head toward me, and gave me an 'Mhmm' kinda look. I flicked him on his forehead and he gave a sour look, like he swallowed a lemon. We hit each other on the way, and Liam came to a stop making me bump into him. "Ow..." I silently shouted. I looked up and saw my door.
Liam sat my luggage right in front of it, and asked his dad if he could have a moment with me. His dad having no problem with that, was going back to the car.
" Are you okay, Liam?" I asked worried. " No. Are you kidding? I won't see you for 3 months," he answered, looking angry. " C'mon man, you'll be having to much fun at summer camp," I tried assure him. " It's like you're telling me to have hell," he reversed it. " Ugh...okay..." I gave in, and embraced him. He hugged me back and we both pulled away. " Let's not get gay now," he commented and we both laughed. He started walking away and then I said, " By the way...Thanks, Liam.".
