(TV playing football). "Do you want anything?" Says Stefan. Kass reply's "no I'm good." Kass reply's with "hey um, do you know about anything with Charlie's dad?" Stefan suddenly pauses and says "what do you mean?" Kass confused says, "you know, the one that was in your dads business." There was a deafening silence in the room when Stefan says, "oh, idk what happened to him, maybe he quit?" Kass thinks and says, "how do you quit a job like that? You would probably have to die before you quit a job like that." Stefan awkwardly turns his head.
~~~~~~17 years earlier~~~~~~
"Quick son, your first kill!" "I don't want to do this dad, it's wrong." "Well this is what we do to people that go against their oath." "Please sir, don't do this, I have a kid waiting for me" says Charlie's dad. Stefan's dad reply's with "well I'm waiting on my kid to shoot the fucking gun, I guess some people will have to wait." "Come on dad it's not right!" "Just shoot the fucking gun or you're next!" Says Stefan's dad. Stefan with fear on his face says, "I'm sorry sir, you don't deserve this." With tears in his eyes he shoots. (BOOM). As soon as Stefan shoots, police sirens show up. Stefans dad in a panic says "quick down this way!" Stefan follows his dad while still in tears and looks over at a car with a girl scared out of her mind. Stefan starts to cry even more.
As soon as they got home, Stefan's dad congratulated him and said, "so, how was your first kill?" "Dad, I don't want to talk about it." He proceeds to walk upstairs to his room. He opens one of his favorite books and reads to get his mind off of things. He thinks to himself, "why do I have to listen to someone that doesn't even care about me. All my dad ever cares about is his stupid business and how many people should die, he literally doesn't even think how I feel. I wish mom were here, maybe I wouldn't feel so alone." Stefan continues reading.
As Stefan gets older and is now 15 years old, he sits in his room and reads his book with some hard rock playing on his headphones. As he read, he notices out of the corner of his eye a girl exactly his age, she looks over to him from across the city buildings. He waves across the buildings to her, she waves confused then closes her blinds.
The next day when Stefan was off to school In the icy cold morning he noticed the same girl, he thinks to himself, "Is that the same girl from last night?"
As Stefan gets to school everything is normal, all the classes are boring, the teachers suck, the lunch is terrible, and the same kid throws up in the locker room every 15 minutes. Stefan zones out at the lunch table and thinks about random story ideas for his comic. Then a little voice said "Hey... hello... anyone there? Stefan finally snaps out of is trans. He regained his conscience and sees the girl. He felt as though he had a heart attack. "oh hi, you startled me." The girl replies with, "oh sorry my bad, we'll im Kassidy but you can call me Kass." Stefan then says, "so, are you new here?" Kass says, "yeah, I moved from Boston with my parents because of my dads job, he's a chief." Stefan smiles and replies with, "oh that's great, my dad is on a business trip for a week, maybe we can meet up after school and go somewhere fun?" Kass thinks and asks, "why do you want to hang out?" Stefan replies and says, "well you're new here so I would like to show you around, is that fine with you?" Kass replies and says, "sure, i guess." Stefan replies, "great, let's meet up after school tomorrow."
