Sup, Guys! This is just a little story I thought of and thought it would be cool to publish. Sorry if it sucks, this is my first One-Shot (-_-'). Anyway, on with the show (I do not own Yu Yu Hakusho, it's cast, or this fan art).

The girl waited in anticipation for what felt like hours, although it had to have been only a few minutes. Everything seemed to stand still; apparently time had decided to stop. This was the day that he was finally coming home. After spending months in the Makai on a "business trip" (a.k.a fighting rogue demons, bands of evil apparitions, and other assortments of criminals), he was finally scheduled to come home.

Keiko leaned on a tree and stood next to Shizuru, who was also waiting near the spot where the portal was destined to open any moment. There was also the elderly Genkai the psychic, Kuwabara, and Yukina the ice apparition. You could tell that everyone was anxious for them to come home.

"When do you think the portal will finally open?" Keiko asked, worry clearly laced in her voice. She could hardly wait any longer. "Well," Yukina started, "I don't think they would purposefully make us wait. But, I do know how unpredictable the demon world is." This didn't seem to comfort Keiko, if anything, it made her feel worse. The ice maiden realized that, so she continued with a smile on her face. "But all that really matters is that they come home safe, right?" Keiko's expression slightly softened at that last comment. She took a while to answer back. "Right," she whispered, almost to herself.

"I don't see why everyone's making a fuss over them being gone. I mean, if they wanna go and do their own thing, that's on them!" Kuwabara bellowed. "Well, you see, Kazuma, all of them mean so much to us, and the Makai is a dangerous place. We're all just worried for their safety, is all." Yukina bowed her head down at that statement.

~~~Flashback~~~
"Come on, Keiko. I told you, I'm just going for a little training. You don't have to be such a na-" "What did you say, Yusuke?!" Keiko shrieked. "It's not my fault I worry so much about you. You're always going on these missions doing who knows what and just leave us all here to wait up on you! Do you ever think about anyone but yourself?!"
Yusuke heaved a sigh. "Look, it's just for a little while. I'll be back before you know it. I just need a little time to clear my head is all."
"Three months is not a little while! I get how long your trainings are, like when you were at the temple for six months which you didn't tell me about until after you got back, and not to mention the time you were at that creepy tournament! It also doesn't help that you just told me about this the day before you have to leave!"
"Well, I'm sorry if Pacifier Breath didn't tell me until just now. And, it's not like I have any choice in the matter. Do you honestly think I want to go bust my tail in Demon World fighting bad guys for three months? And why are you so huffy about this? I'm the one who has to go!" Keiko stormed off, "Ugh! You just don't get it!" Needless to say they hadn't left on good terms.
~~~End of Flashback~~~

Kuwabara, who remained oblivious as always, answered," Yeah, but that's not a good reason to be sad. I mean, worrying about them won't help, and I don't think they would be happy to come back and see your glum faces." Suddenly, he got quiet. "Besides, we all know how strong they are; they can take care of themselves." "Aw, man, Kuwabara, and here I thought you didn't care about us," an obnoxious voice rang out. Kuwabara, along with a few others, jumped in surprise.

"U-Urameshi! You're back!" shouted Kuwabara. "Well, yeah. Man, Kuwabara, hanging out with all these girls must have turned you into a pansy, or someth-." He couldn't finish his statement because he was suddenly glomped (and I mean hard) by a certain brunette. "Yusuke!" Keiko said, tears starting to form in her eyes. Yusuke's expression seemed to soften slightly at this gesture. He looked down at the girl, chuckled, and said, "Well if I didn't know any better, I'd say you missed me." Keiko looked up with sparkling eyes.

She heard some commotion around her and guessed Kurama and Hiei arrived as well. But she didn't notice. As cheezy as it sounded, the two felt like they were the only people in the world. Yusuke now had a weird look in his eyes, something Keiko had never seen before. It almost looked like he... cared. "You didn't have any doubts, did you? About me coming back?" He looked down, seeming to be in deep thought about something. But then, his expression changed, back to the same one Keiko knew and had come to love. "Come on, Keiko. Let's go home." Yusuke stepped forward and walked on, only to find that Keiko had not moved from her spot. "Keiko?" The girl looked up at the Spirit Detective and raised up her finger in the shape of a gun. She now had a sort of playful smirk on her face. "I told you that if you died I'd swear I'd kill you. Bang."
