Uraraka Ochaco was a friendly girl, bubbly attitude, and inviting personality. Her cheerfulness let her get along with just about anyone.
There was just one anomaly in her life. That being a boy named Izuku Midoriya. When she first met him back in primary school, he was a happy kid just like her. She never talked to him, but she knew that he was universally liked.
But that changed one day. News spread quickly of him getting beat up by a bully. Since he then every one started treating him like a glass box. But he wasn't frail, and that pissed him off.
He wasn't made of glass. He was normal, just like them. Just because he was quirkless and being bullied didn't make him any less of a human.
Things only got worse after his father died during a fire. His father tried to save a kid from a burning building. And he did.
At the cost of his own life.
One might be bitter that their dad decided to throw away their own life for another. But Izuku was proud of this dad. Everyone liked his dad. And he loved him. He was his hero. And he died like one.
And Izuku couldn't be any more proud.
So when once again his supposed friends treated him like a lost dog, it infuriated him to no end.
His father had a phrase that he lived his life by.
Protect those around you. And so after his fathers death, Izuku went through a transformation. Gone was the weak, pathetic child. And in his place was a fiersome warrior.
Ochaco watched his growth from afar. She had always wanted to talk to the lad. But she was afraid after he changed. His new way of being scared her a little.
He wasn't the same happy go lucky boy from before. He was more volatile and more violent. His cheerful attitude turned dark and gloomy.
He still interacted with many, but it usually would be one - or two word responses.
What worried her the most after this change was the number of injuries he would show up to class with. It was worrying, to say the least. I mean, what 9 year old shows up every week to school with a black eye and bruises all over.
That's how it was for the next couple of years. Ochaco would watch Izuku from afar watching his growth. She was especially glad when he showed up with injuries less and less.
It wasn't until she turned 13 that she had a chance encounter with the boy that changed her life for the better.
It was a regular day. Regular school, regular classes, regular everything.
School had ended, and she was on her way home. She's never had any problem walking home to school before. She had a well enough friendship with most of the neighborhood. Everybody pretty much knew each other.
It's why she didn't recognize the group of boys that followed her down the street.
"She goes to the same school as that stupid orphan! Take her!" The boys all grabbed her and covered her mouth to prevent her from yelling for help.
They dragged her into an alley to avoid prying eyes and knocked her out.
Izuku was getting out of school when he received a text from one of his boys that a girl from their school had been taken by a rival school, Furidamu Middle. Supposedly, it was to take revenge against Izuku for the beating he gave them the previous week.
"Those idiots are gonna regret this." He sent a quick text back thanking him for the info and wishing him a get well soon. The kid who had witnessed Ochaco's kidnapping was sick from school and saw everything from his bedroom window.
