Always start over

I Found her i lost her

"Where are you going?"asked Mercedes as I kept on walking.
"Get back here" whispered Quinn.
I walked down the stairs and started to ask my self if Shelby was my mom?. When I was few inches away, I stopped and looked at Shelby.
"Funny Girl" Shelby sang as the music began to finish.
once the music was over " mrs Corcoran, hi I'm Rachel Berry, I'm your daughter." I said with passion in my voice.
----in a few minutes----
"How do you feel" asked Shelby. Shelby was 2 rows away from me.....I really don't know why.
"I feel thirsty" I said as I looked to the ground and then looked at Shelby with a little smile.
"Thirsty?" Asked Shelby as she tilted her head.
"Yeah my two dads would ask me how I felt and I would say thirsty because really I don't know how I feel.....I guess both happy and sad...but really I feel thirsty."I said.
It got quiet for a few seconds but to break up the silence Shelby got up and said " you know what that's it. I don't know why I thought of this, I should've let it stay the way it was. Good bye Rachel I'm sorry I can't take this anymore I thought I would feel happy about this...."
"Do you want to go out for dinner or something you know to get over the initial shock"I said as Shelby started to pace back and forth.
"Im sorry,Umm call me." Shelby said nervously and then left.
I looked down and I felt two hand touch my shoulders.
I looked back and it was Quinn and Mercedes.
When the bell rang to go home.... I stayed there sitting as Quinn and Mercedes left the room. I stood in the room for about 2 hours and then I heard someone in back of me. I looked back and it was Shelby.
"Shelby what are you doing here?"
"I mean I'm a teacher here.. What are you doing here?" Said Shelby as she walked down the steps "I.....I..." I put my hands on my face and started to cry.
"Sweetie don't cry" said Shelby as she came closer to me and put her arm on my shoulder.
I got up from the chair and started to walk away.
Shelby looked at me and sighed.
"Goodbye mom..." I said as I opened the door to leave the room.
"Goodbye rachel"
-------- next two days------
When I walked in the school I saw Shelby walk past me. I looked at her and then smiled a bit. I have an idea. I ran to the auditorium and put music down on the piano and just waited here until she came....
------Shelby's POV-----
I walked to mr shues room and sat down.
"Shelby, you have to let Rachel go....you can't raise her now you know she's a teenager now. You have to let her know."
"But..." I got up and left the room.
When I walked to the auditorium and opened the door I saw Rachel right there. "Hey Rachel I have to tell you something."
Rachel looked at me and smiled
"You and I..... Well we can't really see each other anymore.."
Rachel looked at me surprised "what?"
"Rachel look I'm your mother I'm your mom. I didn't raise you, your dads did"
"So do I just act like I don't know you" Rachel said as she looked down.
"No well yes sort of......good bye Rachel."
"Wait can I sing a song with you"
"Yeah sure what song?"
Rachel got the notes ready and said "you'll see"
"I wanna hold'em like they do in Texas please"sang Rachel.
I looked at Rachel and raised one eyebrow.
When the song was almost over me and Rachel sang the last part" she's got to love nobody"
I looked at Rachel as we both started to tear up. " oh here I got you a present..it's a cup...that has a gold star.. So when you feel thirsty you can drink from it"I said as Rachel smiled.
"Can I get a hug goodbye?" I said with a smile on my face.
"Mmmhmmm"said Rachel as I walked to her and hugged her tight. Once I let go I felt my heart breaking into pieces. When I walked away i looked back at Rachel and started to cry even more.
