the small click of the doorknob of george's room rang in his ears. said brunet made his way to the bed in the middle of his room, collapsing against the inviting comforter. george had just gotten back from a night out with dream and sapnap, which had included sapnap getting slightly too drunk and getting them into trouble. dream ended up driving them back. safe to say that george wasn't going out for a drink anytime soon.

after minimal thinking, george had decided to get up and change out of his current clothing to save him the trouble of waking up uncomfortably. the brunet groggily stood up and pulled himself to the closet and got a pair of pajamas. after what seemed like hours, george finally slid under the blankets on his bed. he had thought back to the events that took place earlier.

"sap- i think thats enough- no! where're you going?! " dreams voice echoed in his mind as he envisioned sapnap walking over to a guy who'd been a jerk to him almost immediately after the trio had entered the club.

" you think you're tough? ill smack the shit out of you, bitch! " the aggressiveness of his friend had caught the mans attention. the man turned and tried to hold an intimidating position. he was taller and bulkier than sap, who was nothing in his eyes.

after a bit of back and forth yelling and pushing, a fight had broke out. it was a bit fuzzy in george's sleepy brain, as he was not going to intervene and instead was scrolling on his phone while sipping his drink. but he did remember dream trying to pull them apart, and an apology from dream, and dream pulling sapnap out. george ended up paying and leaving as he apologized to the bartender for the ruckus both of his friends had caused ( mostly sapnap's fault ).

he remembered the shirt dream wore. it was a 90s band t-shirt he had thrifted with dream alone when george initially got to florida. he remembered dreams face and how his voice sounded when he sang. he remembered his scolding to sapnap on the way back home.

to be fair, george didn't like fights and his mind was tired so that was why he didn't remember certain details of the fight in the club.

george's eyes began to flutter, and he knew that was cue for him to close his lamp and rest. he had barely flipped the switch when he heard the knock. he groaned softly to himself, flipping the lamp back on and getting up to open the door.

he almost didn't notice dream standing in his doorway with his cute blue pajamas on. but when george looked up to him, he noticed. what was dream doing in his doorway at like twelve something am? george didn't even have time to think before dream spoke.

" can i stay with you? "

one sentence. one sentence that could make a man feel like he was floating. the way dream softly spoke with shyness in his voice, it was so endearing and adorable he wanted to melt to the floor. he stared at dream, not really realizing how long he'd made dream wait for an answer. he shot his head up and answered, " yeah, yeah is something wrong? ."

dream shook his head, opting to stay silent as he walked into the comfort of the brunet's room. george looked back at dream and patted the bed next to where he sat, offering a place for the blond to sit. dream accepted, stepping over and sitting down next to george.

" dream, what's wrong? " george's voice broke the silence. dream looked up, noticing his face morphing into one of worry as dream's rosy cheeks began heating up and his eyes brimming with tears. george's hand flew to grip dreams gently and stroke his thumb in an attempt to calm him down.

" i-i think sapnap's mad at me and just- god.. did i fuck up at the club george? " dream had raised his head to look at george instead of their intertwined hands. george immediately shook his head, knowing dream wanted to protect his friend instead of anger him. " no, no you didn't dream. i think sap was just too drunk and got aggressive. you didn't make him mad. " george's words were spoken softly but grounded dream to reality instead of making him overwhelmed.

a few tears rolled down dreams cheek as he nodded along to george's words. he raised a hand to wipe them and he looked away from shame and embarrassment. the brunet let him take his time facing george, as he didnt want to overwhelm him. he slowly retracted his hand but dream gripped george's hand, unable to let him go.

" im sorry you have to see me like this. " dream spoke. george wanted to hug him so hard, to hold him so close. he wanted to assure dream it was okay, but he was scared of making him uncomfortable. stupid.. he thought, whisking away those foolish thoughts and instead focusing on dream currently. " no, no dont apologize dream. you haven't a reason to apologize. "

" george i'm literally breaking down while you take care of me. " dream let out in a breathless chuckle. george accompanied and laughed along with dream. " you still dont have to apologize for this. as much as its weird for me to say, i like comforting you. uh- it makes me feel, happy, that you feel better when i attempt to help. " the next thing george felt were strong arms wrap around him and embrace him. dream was hugging him.

he hugged back, sulking in his warmth. dream was such a beautiful, pure soul in george's eyes, nothing could change that. dream had so much love to give, so much happiness that even makes people on the street crack a smile sometimes. george was infatuated with dream, that was for sure.

" cmon you huge teddy bear, you should get to bed. " george was the first to pull away. he knew dream was tired, it showed in his droopy eyes. dream yawned and nodded as he up. george was confused, and reached out to hold his hand. " where're you going? " an upset voice questioned. " to my room-? i thought you didn't want me here- "

george's heart sunk, he wanted dream there so badly. " no dream, come and lay down. " he patted the bed, the same way when he'd invited dream inside of his room. dream hesitantly walked back over, untucking the blanket and slipping his legs into the space. he'd made way for george to slide inside too.

" george, i'm not making you sleep on your desk chair. come here and sleep with me. " dream pull the blanket up and patted the mattress, exactly the same way george invitingly did with him. george looked back, but didn't get up from his seat. instead, he stared into dream's gorgeous, gorgeous eyes he cant seem to get enough of. he slowly rose from his seat and walked over to the open and inviting space that was his -- usually cold and lonely -- bed. george sat down on the mattress, then dream tucked him in.

" goodnight george. " dream rested his head onto the pillow, the dip in his bed growing. george clicked his lamp shut, the darkness swallowing every last drop of light as george finally rested his head on the pillow beside dream. it took him a few minutes, but he finally uttered those words back to the, now softly snoring, blond.

" goodnight, dream. "
